My fiancé got me a diamond heart ring for our engagement. It came on a white gold band. I wanted to change it to platinum so it wouldn’t have to be replated later. I searched online for stores that could switch out the band, and I’m so thankful people mentioned Village Goldsmith! Andres is the person there who creates & repairs jewelry. He came from a jewelry making family & has been working with jewelry since he was a child. I found Andres to be honest, helpful, kind, and someone who pays attention to detail. He helped me pick exactly the band I needed for my ring. Then he had it done in just a few days! His work was good and sturdy, and the price very reasonable. I highly recommend Andres and Village Goldsmith if you want to create or change any of your jewelry!

Terrible customer service. Only come here if you want someone to judge you and ignore you. Unacceptable.

Would not recommend using them for any kind of watch repair.

I took my husband's Corium and my Seiko watches to Village Goldsmith. I had never shopped there but I knew they had been at that location for several years so I left our watches with them. When they told me it would be $25.00 each for the battery, I thought that was a little high but I agreed to pay the $50.00 total. That was a mistake! When I went to pick up the watches, I was informed they had lost the spring bar that attaches the watch band to the clasp on the Corium. I was furious! There is no need to remove the clasp from the band. There is plenty of room to get the back off the watch to access the battery without dismantling the watch band! Spring bars are known for bouncing off - never to be found. Of course Corium uses a unique spring bar - it is an expensive watch. I would expect a reputable jewelry store to get in touch with a certified Corium repair center and order a spring bar for me and have it installed. That would have been good customer service but that isn't what happened. When they noticed how disappointed I was they mailed me a PRINTED OUT sheet from Times Ticking watch repair with the number for long distance information and tell ME I need to get the phone number for them and call to VERIFY the address is good and then mail (and it needs to be registered because of the value the watch) to Times Ticking to have a new spring bar inserted. Of course the postage will NOT be insignificant and I will be responsible for the charge for the spring bar and labor. Mr. Goidel didn't charge me for the batteries but I seriously doubt $50.00 will cover the charges to make my husband's wearable to say nothing of my time and the inconvenience of loss of use. Stay clear of Village Goldsmith Antiques, they may have beautiful jewelry but their customer service is horrid!

I purchased a $1293 vintage watch on 7/22 from Village Goldsmith. The very next day the watch stopped working. I took the watch back on 7/23, and Robert the owner said not to worry, the watch had a 6 month warranty. I called Robert weekly for the next few months to get an update on the watch, and I kept getting the same excuses, and wanted to charge me $50 for services even thought the watch is under warranty and no services have been provided. It has been over 4 months now and I still have no resolution, no refund, and no watch. There is no communication from Robert or any of the staff on the status of my watch.

please please please do not use them I’d hate for anyone else to be in the situation!!I drop a Watch off that my dad hasd given me to be fixed. the back was cracked and robert said he would call me before he did anything. he did not, he ordered the part and never called me. A few weeks went by so I called him to ask for an update he said that he’s just waiting on parts. I told him you were supposed to call me before you did anything. he said oh it’s OK it’s not that expensive…so I said OK let’s go ahead and have it fixed. I waiting a few more weeks and no contact back it’s been over a month I’ve called him several times and he keep saying he is looking for the watch. seams he cannot find my watch…They seem to be very unorganized and Robert acts like cannot remember any conversations he’s had. I’m Still not sure if the watch is fixed nor do I know if they have it. I will continue to call them until they find my watch.

Great place for jewelry repair! I just took in a necklace that was important to my disabled mom. The chain was broken. I was expecting to drop it off and get it back later. The guy was so nice:-)He took it back and fixed it quickly and when I asked what I owe he pointed to the kids charity box on the counter and just asked me to make a donation! I wish I had more time to browse their jewelry because he had some gorgeous pieces. I’ll be back..

GOOD CONTENT, BUT TERRIBLE PERSONNEL: After making a special trip to the store after work one day, arriving just 10 minutes before their posted closing time as I simply had a few specific questions about a diamond ring my son had looked at there, I found the front doors to the Forestwood Antique Mall to be locked. A young gentleman unlocked the door and tersely stated they close in 10 minutes. I asked if the Village Goldsmith people were still there because I just had a few questions. He told me he thought someone was still back there. I walked to the back corner of the mall to find the Village Goldsmith completely empty and dark. About that time, the same young man yelled for me to come back up front, presumably to speak to the VG employee (or owner) as he was walking out the door. This gentleman had no information for me and stated the answers I was seeking should be on a tag attached to the ring and I would need to come back the next day. He wanted me to know they open at 10 am. I explained that I work during the day and he said to call before I come in next time. (I had called but no one answered.) Regardless, I decided I would try calling today by 5:30 to ask my questions. The woman who answered the phone in the VG told me they pull all of the jewelry daily at 5:00 pm to place in the safe overnight. (Despite that everywhere online it shows they are open until 6:00 pm, and the same for the Mall that was locked at 5:50 pm.) Why no one told me that the day I came inside, I have no idea. Because it appears the mall is full of beautiful and interesting antiques, I will return on a Saturday some time. But, let it be known, personnel are NOT friendly or helpful. And, if you are looking for antique jewelry, by all means, arrive plenty of time BEFORE 5:00 pm, when they start putting everything away.

I got a surprise proposal this week. I have always wanted an antique ring. A quick Google search led me to Village Goldsmith where I not only found the perfect Art Deco diamond ring from the 1920s, but they sized it the same day.

Rude man. I set something on a counter to look at. From across the room on old man piped up and said "please don't put that on my counter." A professional man would have said can I help you with that crystal. It weighed maybe 5 lbs. His place is trashy anyway. Take your stuff to Bubba Rouse. Way better jeweler. Don't bother with his services. He reminded me of the kinda man that will argue with you if you don't like what he did to your stuff. Too many polite professional places in Dallas to get merchandise rather than from a rude snotty old man.

I have a thing for the vintage, especially the "classy" vintage, not the old worn out vintage. This store helps keep it classy! Located in the back of the Forestwood Antique Mall, this place has been making it happen there for over 20 years. Owners Eric and Cecile Wright know their stuff and carry some amazingly restored jewelry and watches. They also happen to be the largest retailer of vintage cuff links in Dallas. If you are into cuff links, you know vintage is always better than the new crap a lot of people are selling these days. They have a really cool shop and if vintage and antique jewelry are your thing, whether you are in want of something new, or in need of something repaired, you should check them out!
