Lived here for 6 years now. It’s great. Maintenance guys are really nice and Garrett and Taylor from the office are always really helpful

For starters - I have lived in soooo many apartments (thanks to the military moving lifestyle) and feel like I've got a pretty good idea of what to compare my experience with. I moved into the Monterey in Nov. of 2022 and to be honest, probably toured every single apartment in Dallas to try finding the right one. For me, you can’t beat the West Village location and the biggest decising factor on the Monterey was how dog friendly of a community it was. We often joked with other residents that you had to have a dog to fit in (you don’t, but I promise it will make your life so much better).I could write an entire 5 star review on just the maintenance crew alone and to be perfectly candid if they had left before my lease ended I wouldn’t have thought twice about looking elsewhere - not because things were bad but because they were just that great that you wanted to follow them. Alfredo (shout out to Alfredo, I hope Windsor knows the star employee they have and how much he brightens literally anybody's day) would be out working on holidays and always have a smile on his face. He was cleaning the dog parks on Christmas and when I asked why he’s working a holiday he said “I live here and want to keep it clean, it doesn’t matter what day it is” and THAT to me makes all the difference in where you live. Having a crew that lives on site means the every day problems that impact the residents also impact them and they do what they can to avoid that when possible. During my time here, the elevator would go down on occassion but there are countless others nearby to use so it was ever an issue. Package theft was occasionally an issue from non-residents and for a while I don’t think the issue was taken too seriously, but I know they recently contracted with a security company to crack down on those issues. I never saw so much as an ant in my unit my entire time living here. Other reviews mention that it’s hard to get in touch with staff when you call, and I can say I’ve had my troubles trying to call but any time I emailed instead I received a response within minutes. Garrett especially was super quick to get back to me and incredibly patient when I wanted to tour or ask questions about different floor plans when my renewal time came because I truly did not want to move. Ultimately I found a place up the road with more natural light than I had and much more updated, but if the Monterey made a few updates I would 100% consider moving back in the future. I had an overall positive experience while living here and genuinely don’t have anything negative to say based on my experince. Public reviews can be tricky because a good majority of negative reviews are left by tenants who were charged additional fees which almost always had a reason to justify it as listed in their lease, so I think its important to keep that in mind when reading reviews for any location, not just this one. Being so close to Cole park and having a tree-lined side drive is so peaceful and nice to be close to one of the only green spaces in the area. Beautiful in the fall! If you’re considering this community, take a tour and ask all the right questions. It might not be for everybody but it’s one of the better communities I’ve lived in throughout my time!

Great location and even better walkability. Shops/restaurants around and Easy access to Katy Trail which is nice. Very secure and feel safe even walking at night. Lots of people dog walking/out and about. Staff is responsive and keeps residents in loop. Commons areas are always clean and well kept

On Sunday, December 3, I attempted to pay rent at approximately 6pm. I believed it went through without any issues and I did not receive anything saying that it did not go through. I received an email the next day saying I failed to pay rent. To my knowledge, I believed I paid on time and I think it was declined because I had to lock my credit card due to fraudulent activity. My bank assured me that recurring payments would continue to go through. Since I did not receive any notifications that it did not work, I thought it was fine. They refused to lift the late fee.

I liked this place overall, just be aware of the cons that others have listed on their reviews as well.Location:The biggest pro is its location proximity to the Katy Trail. It was easily accessible to get to from the apartments and that was a big advantage. The West Village is okay. There are some restaurants and a Starbucks but there’s definitely more boutique and skincare shops. So if the latter is your jam - this might be your place to be.Overall Pros:-Very tall ceilings if you are on the fifth floor-Rainfall shower is a nice feature-Peloton bike is a great addition to the gym-Laundry room is spacious-Maintenance is very communicative and fast-Guest parking options are goodOverall Cons:-Leasing office can be difficult to get a hold of unless you go to the office in person. This can be difficult if you don’t work from home and have a question for them. They don’t answer the phone - it goes straight to voicemail. Email response is very 50-50. Your best bet is to go there in person which isn’t convenient for everyone’s schedule.-They don’t air condition the hallways of the fifth floor. They do for the other hallways in every other floor though. I’m not sure if this is a cost savings priority but it was not great. Made me wonder where the lifestyle fee that we were charged went to every month.-Be aware of the traffic the high school across the street creates. It makes coming home from work a real pain. The high school kids tend to hang out in the parking garage as well after school.-Appliances were very loud. Can confirm that as well as I’ve seen other reviews mention it. Particularly the dishwasher and washer/dryer.Community:The community overall was alright. The leasing office staff was friendly overall. The issue really was a lot of careless pet owners that didn’t pick up after their own dog. Unfortunately this is common at a lot of complexes not just this one.

Been here for 5 months and I feel like I found the best apartment ever. I especially love the location, floorplan, & dog parks. The only problems I've had were my keys & dishwasher not working when I first moved in but they fixed those immediately. I don't mind that the building is a little older, it's well maintained compared to others. The dishwasher & washer/dryer are loud but I don't mind. So far my neighbors are quiet and everyone that lives here is extremely friendly, especially the other dog owners.

Lived here over a year, below is my review of the complex.-Apartments: nice, appliances are very loud but functional, could use an update. Never had serious issues with noise from neighbors. Floor plans are nice and spacious.-Maintenance: top notch, usually respond within the same day of a request and for the most part get it fixed.-Pool: pool is small but functional, if you are looking for a "fun" pool where people hangout on the weekends then this is not the place for you. Most of the time 90% of the pool is just reading with headphones in.-Gym: small but fine, if you really want a good workout in you will probably have a gym membership else where.Location: ideal, close to west village, the katy trail, cole park (if you like to play tennis or pickle ball), knox-henderson, AAC.-Package System: pretty terrible, probably bad at every major pick up but during pick times like Christmas the packages are just left in the mail room or package room with little to no security. If you are getting an amazon package early then sometimes the delivery people do not know where to go. Sometimes packages will be in mail room, sometimes the package room and sometimes at your door its often a guessing game.-There's a lot of trash left around the complex especially in certain areas of the parking garage where they just have a stack of cardboard, old broken furniture, etc.- The security at the complex is pretty weak, there's car break-ins almost monthly especially when the local highschool is in session. If you stay here make sure to have good renters insurance, because you will probably need it at some point.-They do an elevator rental service where when you move in you can reserve an elevator, which is great while moving in. Often times they forget to unlock the elevator after someone is moved in and it can go hours locked and unusable.-Keep in mind they love to charge a bunch of fees like a lifestyle fee for the average amenities, trash fee despite there being trash in portions of the parking garage, parking fee despite the parking garage not being secure and half the time the gate is broken to get to the garage.

I have lived at the Monterey for a little over 2 1/2 years. I just renewed for my 3rd time. My first time was with Jameson and he was amazing and so helpful. Second time was with someone else who was not as nice or helpful. 3rd and most recent time was back with Jameson and he was wonderful. He worked with me to find a rate that would allow me to stay in my unit and not have to look at moving. Every time I have needed something and he answers the phone or is in the office I always feel a sigh of relief because I know he will be friendly, kind, and get the job done!

This review is reflective of living at this property for nearly a month:While the location, floor plans, and amenities are really great, my experience has been very disappointing.- The biggest issue is how thin the walls are. I am constantly woken up or disturbed by the amount of noise coming from my neighbor. I specifically asked twice during my tour about this sort of thing and was assured that it was not an issue at all.- The office staff, while lovely on my tour, have been very snippy, condescending and dismissive when I reached out for help finding a solution to the noise. I called three times, stopped in person twice, and sent an email to the property manager. It took the email (sixth try) before I finally got a response which is quite frankly unacceptable. The response was telling me I could move units if I paid $1,000. No empathy at all or any willingness to have a conversation about potential solutions.- Deliveries are very difficult and the call boxes do not work which is quite inconvenient.- The appliances are extremely loudAll in all, this apartment would be great if not for the noise in my unit and the dismissive attitude I’ve received from the office. I’ll continue to update this review should any of that change.

Staff is wildly unprofessional, condescending & snippy. I hope you like the smell of reefer because it plumes from some of the units. The staff refuse to cool the building when it’s 100+ outside and in the 90s in the elevators and the halls…which is dangerous… & forces residents to spend exponentially more trying to cool each unit themselves IF it cools at all. Gate doesn’t work most of the time. Kids walking through the property when school lets out across the street every day screaming and cursing. Do not recommend.

My favorite apartment I’ve ever lived in. Great experience with the leasing office employees, maintenance was super quick with any issues, never waited more than 2 hours for them to come fix anything such as a clogged drain, low water pressure in shower head, which were all minor things that were fixed immediately.Personally, never really had a major issuesjust an occasional inconvenience if one of the garage doors was broken and left open and obviously that brings in security issues but nothing major happened during my time here.

I toured The Monterey Apartments and has really nice amenities. Nancy who tour me was super friendly and answered all my questions about the property and area. I met the other office staff who greeted me with a hello and smile coming back from the tour!I definitely have this property on the top of my list to live in.

DO NOT MOVE HERE OR ANY WINDSOR COMPLEX. They will scam you out of the most amount of money possible, especially if you’re a young or new renter. They’ll charge you trash fees but not pickup your trash even within the guidelines, delete your contract off the portal and lie and say you never signed it then try to make you sign a contract that has you paying way more. They will always be sure to act the most immature way possible as well while dealing with complaints such as one’s having to due with charging random fees and the corporate office will either decline or ignore your call or hang up in your face when they realize they’re not winning the conversation. With all facts given to prove they’re scamming us they start to act like pure children. This is such a joke of a complex and wouldn’t even recommend my worst enemy living here.
