I went online to donate a bed to salvation army. I had to wait two weeks for pick up. I described the bed in detail in my notes. The guys came to pick up the bed and said they could not take bed because it was not disassembled. The pickup guys, the dispatcher, and the Dallas supervisor were all well aware that this information was not on website but said guys would be fired if they took 5 min to disassemble bed. My boyfriend disassembled the bed that night and I called to get pick up. They could not come back for two weeks. The Dallas office is aware that website does not have correct information on what can be picked up. They have no access to a supervisor who can help. Also they cannot pick up voice messages so you you have to keep calling back until you get a person. The guys I spoke with in the Dalls office were great and willing to help, but they have no national support and no way to correct the website or inability to pick up messages. I ended up having to pay a junk removal service $400 to pick up the bed. This is money that could have been donated to the salvation army if they had a better system. At a national level Salvation Army does not care about the people donating to them. I will never donate to Salvation Army again.

I currently live at the Salvation Army awaiting for my housing. This place is very disgusting. Smells bad, trash everywhere on floors, no one never participate to clean and Staff allow these things to happen. A lot of men at this center are rude, have poor hygiene, never cover their mouth when they sneeze or cough. Mold is deeply within the cracks of the walls and shower walls. Many people are sick that live at the Harry Hines facility in Dallas. There are no electrical receptacles in the restroom, anits are crawling all over the toilets and all the showers are molded and stained. The worst to add to the horrific scene are the bedbugs infestation. Someone please step forward and fix all these problems ASAP !!!

I bought gifts for 4 senior angel trees along with volunteering my time at the Dallas Distribution warehouse for a few days. I went by the place on the warehouse shelf where one a my senior angel trees were placed for pick up. This was the next day and of the 4 desired gifts for this senior was GONE! One of them was her main 'need' , a twin Comforter set, -not easy to find without ordering online and waiting 2 weeks which would pass the turn in date. However, after 4 stores, I had one for her with a matching throw included. --It was gone from her gifts I bought , I felt sick......

The Salvation Army has been my charity of choice for many years. But now that they have entered into politics and have jumped on the “race” bandwagon, I guess they don’t need white peoples money. So I will no longer be donating money, clothes and furniture. Sad that this is the first year I passed the kettles without putting money in. Charities need to stay out of politics.
