We have taken our dogs to Northwood for over 20 years because they have taken such good care of them. Apparently, our current dog, Margaret, likes it too because her tail starts wagging when we drive up. We appreciate Dr. Chase and his associates and feel blessed that we have such a reliable place to take Margaret. Miles S.

Dr. Chase and his staff are the absolute best at helping me understand that less is more when it comes to honoring our long time friends.

I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars! Dr. Chase is a saint. My cat has terminal cancer, and Dr. Chase has been there every step of the way, not just at scheduled appointments, but also the phone calls. He has done so many phone consults because I call every time my cat takes a turn for the worse. Dr. Chase always calls me back within a couple days if he isn't available. He always patiently answers my questions. And he never charges for his time on the phone! He has been so helpful on this journey. My family has been using Northwood for decades and we have been to many of the veterinarians who have worked alongside Dr. Chase there. They have all been wonderful We will continue to patronize Northwood for many, many years to come.

We have used Northwood Animal Clinic since 2001, when Dr. Bounds was the vet. He and Dr. Chase have always taken wonderful care of our dogs over the years. We have also used their boarding services from time to time. I would feel confident in recommending Dr. Chase to anyone, as he has a great understanding of animals and their humans, as well as being an excellent dr.

Took my dog to Dr. Chase for the first time recently after my old vet retired. I immediately felt comfortable!!! He isn't the type of vet that is just trying to take your money! He truly cares! He seems to believe in quality of life above all else!!! I am so glad I visited and my other dog will be there soon! If looking for a vet go visit him, you won't be sorry!

A woman who handled my moms call about our dog handled it HORRIBLY. Our dog is on her death bed basically. We called to try and set up a euth. The woman simply told my mom "oh we can't do it today." I used to work at this vet and the only good thing about it is Dr Chase HIMSELF. If he handles a call or a client it's well but the receptionist she hires are not sympathetic nor are they helpful. This woman's name is Rachel, I would steer away from her for sure if she ever answers your call. Glad I quit working there when I did because it sure looks like it's gone downhill.

Our dog was ill and despite a full schedule they squeezed him in to allow him to get the proper meds. Very impressed with the staff today. Thank you.

I called this vet on a Friday to see if I could come into the clinic to get some flea and tick medication and have the dog's anal glads expressed. Despite sounding like an easy, quick, drive-by service that an animal technician can take care of, I was told I had to schedule an appointment to see the veterinarian. The dog in my care was healthy and already current on her shots with another clinic from out of state, but apparently an exam with a doctor was necessary in the not-so-great, state of Texas. An appointment was made for Monday at 9:30 am, but I was told to show up earlier so we could take care of paperwork. Monday morning rolls around, and their parking lot is completely filled. I waited a few minutes in my car because I thought someone was getting ready to leave. They had their lights on, but they didn't move. I had to circle through the back alleyway and back onto the main road of Spring Valley to see if I could find a nearby area where I could park. Peyton Road where the clinic was located had no sidewalks or street parking, so that didn't appear to be an option. There was a paved pad near the clinic. I wasn't sure whose property it was, but I took a gamble and parked there because I didn't want to be late for my appointment. Despite my best intentions, I was charged a $15 late fee. Really? I'm a brand new customer to this business. This was my first time ever stepping foot into this clinic. No one mentioned on the phone when I made my appointment that a late fee would be charged. I didn't review my bill onsite because I was trying to be helpful and clear the hallway so that another patient could checkout and leave. When I got home and reviewed my bill, I was shocked that a business would charge a brand new client a late fee without forewarning. I called the clinic to complain and state that this is a horrible business practice. I was told on the phone that when I filled out the paperwork in the office, I was essentially agreeing to be charged a late fee. Mea culpa for not reading the fine print before signing. Had I seen it, I would have taken my business elsewhere. It's a shady policy in my opinion, especially when used against a brand new customer. In the end, despite having an appointment, I sat in the clinic for two hours waiting to see a veterinarian. The doctor was a substitute that didn't belong to the clinic. He gave my dog an exam and provided the necessary information about the options I had for flea and tick medication. It is unknown whether the resident doctors at this location are any good, but the substitute doctor we saw was very kind, helpful and professional. I must say I'm horribly disappointed in this clinic's late fee policy, especially as it relates to new clients. If you are going to do something like this, tell clients on the phone when they schedule the appointment and email them paperwork in advance so they have time to read the policies in place. Thankfully, DFW is a big place and other veterinary clinics are available. Hopefully one won't be necessary for the short time this dog is staying with me, but if there is a need, I'll be sure to seek treatment elsewhere and encourage others to do so too.
