I barely leave reviews but I have to this time.
Took my dog Wednesday 10/16 for suddenly bleeding and body blood bruises. bloodtest his platelets is zero. vet gave meds but my dog still died the next day Thursday afternoon 10/17. The Thursday morning we found his gum complete pale and very weak pooped black, we called this clinic but they said doctors fully booked no time to see my dog and asked we take him to ER and said sending his info to ER, but actually I called the ER this Monday ER said THEY NEVER RECEIVED MY DOG'S INFO THAT DAY Thursday 10/17!!!...... Spent over 500 bucks with the vet but didn't save my dog. even that day in clinic been told the blood test result should be come out less than 20 mins but we actually holding our sick dog in the room waited more than 40 mins even more........ Very sad and disappointed for Dr's response not showing concern nor empathy when Thursday 10/17 we told my dog is very dangeous and need help but not be treated correctly and nobody call back to ask or follow up whats going on with my dog....... This is not a clinic or doctors should be like. Don't make it a money grabbing place, rememeber yall are vet/doctor,1st responsibility is save life, show emaphty, concern and responsiblity, yall not just a picker at the shop.
To whom replied to my review this Monday said: it won't bring my dog back. I know that, you don't need to tell me again. If you don't know how to speak approiately and what is the proper words you should say, I will suggest you go back to school to get somre more basic knowledge and common sense and to learn "How to speak appropriately". My dog will not come back to me anymore. My heart is broken and scattered. I lost my beloved and favorite dog I cried everyday. This same dog two years ago suddent limped his left leg not able to walk we took him to here but the vet gave him meds did not work. We just wasted money. And this time we lost my dog there.

My baby Rocco had to be put to sleep. He was suffering from lymphoma cancer, began vomiting not eating lethargic. They were very compassionate during this time in my life. They made sure my baby was comfortable. Allowed me time to be with him before and after. It was the worst day of my life. Given the circumstances and compassion they showed me and him is the reason for the 5 star ⭐

Not there for you when you have an emergency. They tell you to Google another vet cause they don't know the phone numbers or addresses. Very disappointing, sad and not dependable in times of crisis.

I've been going to them for 8-9 years now. I just wish they weren't so expensive for simple little things like all vaccines, medicated shampoo, Dr visits, and the little stuff. In my opinion, all those should be under $30. The only thing that should cost more is dire situations.

It’s been an overall good vet but the price is a little too high for what it is. Our previous visit was good until the vet came in. Came to talk down to us and generally being condescending.

Ive ALWAYS loved this place. I happen to be staying in Watauga with mom and had to have Pepita groomed outside our loop. I had to call and get info on P so she could get groomed and the people at the place got the info in no time! Thank you Metro Paws! You guys rock!!!!

Hopefully as a “rare reviewer” and someone that has never had pleasant experiences in a veterinary clinic/hospital, this will help current and new pet parents:
Appointment setup: My initial call was very pleasant. The receptionist was polite, friendly, and took her time listening to me and gathering my info.
Waiting period: My wait was very short.
Intake and Vet Tech: The tech was very sweet. It kind of seemed like she may have been new to the industry or specific hospital but was quick to make sure my questions were answered. All information she gave me was provided in a very professional/kind tone.
Meeting with Dr.: Though I can’t speak for all Drs there since I am a New client, Dr. Castillo was fantastic and represented the facility very well. She was very sweet and personable from the beginning. Her words and her motions were very relaxed and not rushed. She explained every step of my puppy’s physical exam, telling me what she was doing and why. My puppy was purchased from a breeder so he had a vaccination record I didn’t fully understand. She took the time to explain in detail where my puppy is in his vaccination timeline and significance of each round per his record. She gave me some good tips She made me feel very comfortable and confident that my puppy, Knox has a good vet.
2nd opinion: During what I thought was an emergency, I made an appointment to take my puppy to another 24 hour clinic (since Metro Paws was closed at the time). Dr Castillo wasn’t initially available when I called the next day to get a 2nd opinion, but after a reasonable wait time, I got a call back from her with detailed explanation and suggestions. A callback doesn’t sound like a big deal for some but, nowadays, for me it is.
Anyways I’m very happy I chose them to start my first real vet/client relationship!! ☺️

We met Dr. Emily Adamson when we needed a travel health certificate for our cat. Dr. Adamson knows the requirements and the paperwork so well, it made a very stressful time so much easier and smoother for us. She was kind, responsive and easy to communicate. Metro Paws overall was an extremely positive experience for our family.
