Even though it is my first year homeschooling, I have been going to lakeshore for 10 years. I have been able to find simple crafts, sight word cards etc but I mostly go for the fun learning family games and science projects. There is just so much but we have a tight budget so often we make a wishlist and share it with grandparents who want ideas what to the kids for bdays or Christmas. There is still plenty within the $25 dollar range. You do not need these materials to help children learn but if you can afford toys but want the added benefit of knowing it is educationally appropriate, why not see if you like this store?

If you love being followed around the store and don’t have blonde hair and blue eyes, then this is the location for you! Despite being a repeat customer and spending over $100 every time I shop here, I am greeted with the same “polite hostility” and I’m over it frankly. I watched as several other people who did not look like me today were able to browse and shop in peace. Meanwhile I had store representatives hiding next to stock across each aisle and fervently questioning me as if to constantly keep an eye on me.
I have noticed this across employees throughout the years so I’m inclined to believe it is company culture.
Someone really needs to inform these ladies that in their location, majority of teachers are minorities and that we can shop there without stealing. I do not see the point in isolating a lot of your customer base by treating them as criminals the second that they walk through the door.
I drove 45 minutes just to leave with nothing. Contrary to the smug look on the clerks face, it was not because I couldn’t afford the items, it was because I was having a hard time suppressing my frustration and decided to leave. In the past I’ve made purchases despite this treatment to avoid the shame that is paired with the assumption that you are going to steal, however as of today, I refuse. You don’t want to treat a black customer like you would treat anyone else walking into your store, then you don’t want my black dollars.
For anyone who has made it this far in this review every single item that they sell in this store can be found online, sometimes at better quality, stronger varieties, at more reasonable price points. Carson Delarosa is a fantastic alternative brand. If you buy items on teacher pay teacher, then you’re helping another teacher. If they want to treat paying customers like they are not wanted, then we need to start paying someone else.
I will not be returning.

Has a variety of materials you can use to decorate your classroom. Donna who attended to us was very helpful . She was a teacher for several years so she was able to give us some suggestions.

As a parent, I appreciate the emphasis on educational toys at this store. I can find toys that are not only fun but also promote learning and development. Highly recommended!

Great specialty store for educational supplies. The staff really go out of their way to help you find what you need, so just ask them if you need anything specific. One of the staff Adrian was also a KindergartenTeacher and mom, she helped me find the right activity set.
