“I have been in twice to get tattooed by Mike and I will definitely continue to return. One of the chillest artists I’ve worked with. Does extremely good work and is down to bounce ideas back and forth. Would highly* recommend anyone to come here.

“I took the Downward Dogs and Deadlifts class here and loved it! It was a great way to start off a Saturday morning. Jen and Dave have created a cool class combining yoga and strength training that is accessible to all skill levels. You can choose multiple dumbbell weights to tailor your workout, and the class concludes with a guided stretch and Savasana. Bonus: we listened to fun, energetic music that helped me get through the sets!”

“Fantastic customer service! Really appreciated Michael's knowledge and expertise. We had some artwork that needed a custom mat size cut and Michael was able to give us a couple of recommendations and point us in the direction to get our project completed. His attention to detail is outstanding and a treasure. Thank you!”

“Awesome customer service and very timely. I had a canvas I needed stretched for a gift and time was running out. Every place I called said 2 weeks. This place had it done in 2 days! I have nothing but great things to say about them!”

“They always have plenty of beautiful things, if they don't have some thing that blends with what you have, come back next week-- they probably will. They get new things in all the time and have a lot of unique very well-made pieces. It's basically upscale consignment so I get things that I normally couldn't afford that are well-maintained and seem brand new. It's a fun store to look around in.”

“Always encouraging and helping you to explore your creativity in an unbiased and supportive approach, Cynthia Chartier is a true artist. She knows the obvious technical fundamentals of painting/color, but she also has that whimsical childlike approach to color and subject matter that makes her art inspired and transformative. This makes her an unbelievable wealth of knowledge for new/aspiring artists, as well as established artists that need help tapping further into their inner creative spirit and overall abilities.”

“Nice artifacts from Mexico. Have seen many of their items for sale in Mexico. The quality here is high. The pricing here is acceptable compared to prices we saw in Mexico, especially for the high quality of the artwork.”

“Brought a couple of unique pieces back from South Africa a few years ago and we were unsure how best to frame/display them. Took them to Artifex and they did an amazing job. They turned out better than we could have hoped for!”

“I had no idea this place existed and I am so glad I discovered it. the curator's tour is well worth planning for a specific time of day, although I did struggle overheating, standing, and walking on the concrete floor; bring a hand fan, wear comfortable shoes, and don't get two vaccinations on your way there (that one was on me)!

the museum is fully accessible, throughout. a guided tour took about an hour, and after I took another walk through and spent another hour and a half admiring the collection. the curator graciously answered question after question, providing insights you would miss otherwise. there are also a few pieces which take a bit more dedication to enjoy: a couple of films, one an hour long, a short cartoon, an auditory experience, and a (passively) interactive work.

for this visit, The Eye was clearly the showstopper. meant to invoke the moment man first split atom, the mirrored shards radiate energy from one angle while displaying clear architectural framing from an other. the viewer finds themselves reflected in shattered vestiges of the human they were when they walked into this room. there are stairs going both up and down, reminiscent of MC Escher, complete with rabbit holes tunneling through to the other side. from a distance, the woodwork supports can be sighted peaking from intentional defects made in the mirror, and an abundance of cracks thoughtfully decorates panels throughout. there is also, very subtlety, the form of two pyramids stacked upon each other, the top pointed down, almost to remind one of an hour glass. as the piece fluidly moves with the observer, reflections of the room dancing in and out of line of sight, it is hard to say how much of the sand in this hourglass has fallen.

there were so many lovely and moving pieces, which is incredible because they said the exhibit I was seeing was smaller than usual. it was just a feast for my brain, inspired me to create something of my own, and already I can't wait to go back. and it's all FREE! make sure to register before so you're not fumbling at the check-in desk, but there is no charge, not even for tours. since it's a little out of the way, there's very little traffic and you can get the gallery to yourself (and a watchful guard!).

highly, highly recommend checking this one out!”

“Valley House is a hidden gem. We lived in the area for some 20 years before I stumbled across it on Google and went to take a look. The sculpture garden is amazing both for the art but also the landscaping which is always meticulously groomed. They have art exhibits inside of both local and other up and coming artists. We are grateful to the owners of this fabulous property for making it available to the public. Entrance is free.”

“Visited Dallas over the weekend and discovered the design district. This area should be a must go-to for all designers of every type. Several shops along the way are most inspiring and could take away someone's afternoon. Myself, a graphic designer by trade loves antique stores. We came across the Griffin Trading Company and was greeted by Steven, who is the store manager. He was full of excitement and enthusiasm while talking about his collections. I felt our small group had a connection with him. In store, there are many advertising collections from 3D dimensional items hanging from the ceiling or rafters to 2D items hanging on the wall. All in perfect or very clean condition. Had so much fun spending an hour getting to know Steven and hearing what his inventory is all about. Would love to own one of his Hannah Barbera pieces one day. If the price is right, I may have to drive a truck out to pick them up. Griffin Trading Company has a website and an Instagram account to get an eyeful of their inventory. You should go look them up. I found this exquisite 3D signage that looked to be in decent condition and was ready for updating. "Ink" in bold black and white san serif lettering with some hint of LED wiring left over. I can easily spruce this piece up and bring it back to life. Most likely will hang it in my office. Perfect for display purposes and jazz up my place a bit. This place is great for bargain hunters too. Best to bring cash but they will accept credit cards. I”

“Beautiful artisanship. I'm not used to the price for originals, and there are many artists who capture the light almost perfectly with their differing perspectives.”

“It’s a joy to walk into this gallery. I have enjoyed the work shown here since college and it’s a beautiful space. The range of work shown is vast and it’s always challenging and makes you look at the world differently. They are so kind and really take the time to explain the art and greet you with a smile. Highly recommend visiting them!!!”
