I called to inquire about my daughter getting her hair cut. I asked if they knew how to cut curly in which one of the employees informed me they “only do straight hair here”. Since this is such a diverse city I would have thought a business specializing in kids hair they would not exclude a majority of children. I don’t know if it’s ignorance or subdued prejudice but I would avoid this place if you have any curly haired kids:

We usually love this place, and I’ve brought my boys here for 5 years. But the lady who does a good job is apparently gone and I’m not sure we’ll be back now. Any time we use someone else, the haircuts were horrible. Today was the worst, when I said “trim the top just enough to get it out of his eyes”, and this was the result.

Stephanie at Sharkeys is really good with infants and toddlers. She did the first haircut for our little one when he was a little over a year. We were so worried that clippers would scare him. But she did it so well adjusting herself to be agile enough as my little one was turning his head all around. This amazed me as very few people can be nimble at doing this. We love her and have been going back to her for the last couple of years now!

Brought my 2 year old to have a haircut with Sharon. The fire truck was an absolute win! Sharon was very patient, she worked quickly and cautiously.

Sharon is great! I made an appointment online ahead of time, but we arrived a bit early and she was able (and happy) to fit us in early. She was great with the boys (4 yo and 2 yo) and super fast! Their hair came out just as I requested. The boys loved the fun cars and the treats at the end (lollipop, fruit snacks, and gold fish)! Thank you!!
