Juan is a great guy, up front, honest and reliable! He does great quality work! I would highly recommend his shop. They got our car fixed in a timely fashion and it runs fantastic now! You can't go wrong using him!

I would give a negative Star if it was possible. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS SHOP!! My car was there for 11 days. I was told by Juan, that my car needed a timing adjustment. For 7 days after that, I was told they were waiting for a "tool" to repair my car. After waiting for the "tool" that they needed, I was told for another 4 days that they were working on my car. After 11 days of waiting with no viable communication other than me calling and being told by Maria that they were waiting for a "tool" I finally got frustrated and told them I wanted my car back to take to a shop that has the "tools" to repair it. I was then told I would cost me $495 for them to leave my car outside so I can have it towed to another shop that is equipped to repair it. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHOP! You will get ripped off and waste your time.

Take your car elsewhere. No communication and dishonest. My car still has the same issues and they had my car for a whole week. I was so disappointed. Women get done so wrong.

Before work started on my 2011 Ford Flex, I asked the owner, Juan, if he could repair the car’s sensor problem to clear out the showing sensor’s dash indicator light to which he replied, “Yes”. That was on 02/13/24 when he replaced the Crankshaft Position Sensor (size 11.22) which cost me $78.28 and $468.00 in labor. He told my wife to drive 40 miles to make the light go away. She drove over 40 miles and called Juan to tell him the light was still on. He told her to bring the car back on 02/14/24. That day, he put in my Flex a variable valve timing solenoid bank, size 2.49 which he had on hand for a different vehicle. I was charged $111.62 and notes for labor stated “remove & replace - normally aspirated left side”. This labor cost was $182.00. Juan told my wife to, once again, drive 40 miles. After 60 miles, the light was on. She went back on 02/15/24 and he said he would have to keep the car for several days next week to tear into the motor to see if the timing chain was the problem (sounds like exploratory surgery). I no longer trust his word or his competence on knowing the problem and solution. I believe I deserve half of what I paid back, which is $436.85.Sincerely, Bryan ****

I was looking all around town for a A/C compressor for a reasonable price and J's auto repair shop came through for me. Walked in and was pleasantly greeted by Maria she was very professional and the shop was very clean. I came all the way from Pearland to get my wifes car fixed. I dropped her car off in the morning and by the afternoon we were rolling in cold A/C. I highly recommend this business for all your car needs. I will definitely be back the next time I need some work done on my car. J and Maria I really appreciate y'all service. Job well done.

Appreciated J's Auto Repair company's commitment to customer satisfaction, yet is lacking timely and accountable customer service, communication and service delivery.I've used J's Auto Repair service twice. In the first experience, the business impressed me by fixing a vehicle maintenance issue that 3 other, different mechanic shops before him, was not able to fix or even identify. It took J’s Auto Repair two attempts-- the first time they told me the vehicle was fixed, I drove it two stop lights and it shut off on me, when I attempted to accelerate away from the red-to-green light. It unexpectedly, took them several weeks to finally resolve. So, customer beware that you could experience longer than expected...1) time to get communication;2) time to get your vehicle back,3) as well as some unexpected item/service that would cost you unreasonably inconvenient time, frustration and money.Services: Electrical repair

Appreciated J's Auto Repair company's commitment to customer satisfaction, yet is lacking timely and accountable customer service, communication and service delivery.\nI've used J's Auto Repair service twice. It unexpectedly, took them several weeks to finally resolve.\nMy 2nd visit was estimated at about $280, and about 1 week to fix, that morphed into over an estimated $1,100. Also, it took about 3 additional weeks and several minutes of my time, energy and effort in phone calls and talks, with the front desk personnel, and sometimes the owner, to get some type of understanding of what was going on. Why were things taking so long and why does the price keep going up?\nThe owner is often traveling and no one else seems to be empowered or prepared to make decisions in his stead. Also, the owner is often in places where he doesn't get functional mobile phone reception which makes it hard to reach him.\nThe company could definitely benefit from having more accountable and empowered people in place to make decisions and be more beneficial to the customer and reduce delays.\nSo, customer beware that you could experience longer than expected...\n1) time to get communication;\n2) time to get your vehicle back,\n3) as well as some unexpected item/service that would cost you unreasonably inconvenient time, frustration and money.\nWhile, I will most likely no longer patronize their business, I appreciated the results of their maintenance service. They need a better business model to consistently promote better customer service, communication and overall customer experience.

I will say when I walked into this place I was warmly welcomed. Store was clean and it was a friendly environment. I asked them to check my car for the check engine light and they proceeded to tell me it was my water pump. I then asked how much it was she said 585 and then asked me if she should order the part. I said yes. After a few minutes on the phone she then proceeded to tell me it was 645 but I will get a lifetime warranty. I was a little irritated but then I proceeded to tell her that’s fine. I then asked if that would be the price for my whole repair and then she said yes. So I said go ahead and she said to come back the next day. I came back the next day and my price jumped up to 700 dollars plus tax. I asked what was going on and she started throwing extra fees into the mix. When I said that’s not what we agreed on she said well… if you want I can replace your radiator fluid with water to bring the price back down. At this point I was pretty upset. Not only did you not give me accurate pricing but you proceeded to insult my intelligence. The funny part about it was that I was going to bring my other two vehicles here as well but i just didn’t like the way they kept rising the prices on me without notice. Very disappointing to see you are being helped just to find out they are just taking advantage. If you do shop here definitely make sure you have a complete understanding on all of your pricing and fees. Some people plan their money by what you tell them and don’t have too much wiggle room with their funds. I wouldn’t say it was truly terrible service I just feel like I wasn’t being told the whole truth about things and dishonesty makes me uncomfortable. I hope this review helps

I am hesitant to review so that more people don’t know, but I love J’s. My family has been taking cars here for years and he’s consistently come in quickly and under other estimates on most work. I will literally drive 30 minutes each way to bring cars here now.

The last time I experienced a mechanic so passionate about identifying and solving a difficult automotive problem, it was the 1970s and that mechanic was my dad's best friend. These folks care so much about the service they offer, anytime you need a problem fix- I strongly suggest J's auto repair service.

J Auto Repairs is one of the best auto repair shops in Houston. Juan the owner is a very good man both in his knowledge of what’s going on with your vehicle also in his honesty and his professionalism. This guy runs one of the most honest and humble repair shops in Houston. If you need a second quote bring your vehicle to Juan and tell him John Spiller sent you!

I hate to have to write this review as I had such high hopes after researching locally owned service. The owner answered the phone and told us to just drop by and with no need for appointment to obtain oil change, tire rotation, and general 50K mile inspection. My husband had to do it because they do not have hours after my 8-4 work schedule in TMC. My husband took the car over around lunchtime and was told to come back the next day instead. They couldn't get us in within a 2 hour window we had. They wanted us to just drop it off in the morning and they would have someone drive him home. The next day he did just that but no one there to drive him. He had to take an Uber home because he didn't bring a laptop to do his work thinking they would take him home. Over 6 hours later my husband called to find out the status and they had only completed the oil change. He needed to get our kids from school so he paid for another Uber to go back and they hadn't done a tire rotation nor checked the car over. The ownership looks good on paper but the service didn'thold true. Over $100 in fees and Uber just to get a oil change that pretty much 2 days of our time.Services: Oil change
