“The hotel has been nicely renovated. The breakfast was not as good as other hotels. The eggs were dried out etc. The lights in the parking lot wasn't working so nothing was lit up which could be dangerous in the dark. The clerk said sometimes they work and sometimes they don't.

Rooms: The room had been renovated and was nice and clean.”

“Due to some personal family business, we have been traveling to Cotulla regularly over the past four months. We tried Hampton Inn Cotulla, as Hampton Inn is our go to brand, which was only one bad experience after another…And all we wanted was a CLEAN room! Gone are the days that three star hotels consistently have routine clean rooms because help is no longer well trained, nor motivated, and has high turnover…This is why Airbnb business is booming everywhere …. ANYWAYS~We realize the 8 hotels in Cotulla were built during the Eagle Ford Shale oil boom 15 years ago, and are really beat up from chronic oil worker stays, but sheesh, can’t someone learn how to clean a room properly????~ It was SO bad that we eventually opted to stay in San Antonio on these frequent trips, which was terribly inconvenient because it is a 90 minute drive on an interstate highway that sees thousands of semitrailers per day! Yes, it was that bad. Then, because of a bunch of legal matters we had to attend to at the La Salle County courthouse which is in Cotulla, among other things, we stayed way too long in Cotulla and we were exhausted and knew we had to come back the next morning, and we were forced to stay in Cotulla overnight as all other 3 tier hotels that we knew of within 30 mins were fully booked, ~except one. Of course, the only hotel that had availability was the Hampton Inn Cotulla. I was quite put out…Then we drove by The Malana!

We had not ever even thought about Malana because it is away from the I-35 Hotel hub in Cotulla. But we decided to check to see availability, hoping against hope that they might have a room!

It was a God shining down on us moment! Double Triple OMG! This hotel has the best appointed fitness room of the hotels available in the area. They offer breakfast AND dinner M-F. The double occupancy rooms are larger than average with 12 foot ceilings for a super spacious feel. (Hampton Inn Cotulla had the smallest footprint we had ever seen for a two queen beds room, if you decide to go there anyway, you are better off in. King suite which is very roomy, but still not clean.) The bathroom at Malana is fully tiled, with a spacious shower with glass doors. The linen service is good quality and ample, with spotless bedding. The decor is modern chic with calming colors and subdued interior decor. The staff was amazing: smiling, attentive, gracious, always someone present! The dinner food prepared fresh not frozen was very good on the night we stayed offering three entrees: veggie stir fry, baked Mac n Cheese, and ground sirloin patties with fresh grilled mushrooms, a salad filled with tomatoes, lettuce, red cabbage, sliced hard boiled eggs, and grated cheese, with four salad dressings to choose from was also offered, with a nice courtesy lime infused water available, and a variety of drinks also offered for purchase.

But The Best Part of our stay was how clean the hotel was. Our room was super clean and really perfectly attended to!

We are thrilled to now have this overnight stay option in Cotulla. You cannot beat truly clean rooms and spotless linens to make me a loyal customer.

Lesson learned: **Hampton Inn Cotulla is a privately owned franchise hotel so there seems to be no accountability to honor the Brand Standard. Buyer beware!

But now we have The Malana, so all is good there! (Only negative thing is dim lighting in the bathroom! I wish there was a more bright light in the bathroom.)

Rooms: Large, high ceiling super clean rooms, with good storage options, with a great modern bathroom, glassed in shower.”

“The rooms were ok, under remodel. However, for breakfast in the morning, it was seriously lacking compared to other Hampton inn hotels in TX. Only one waffle machine, only gross and unhealthy white bread, there was some cereal, but absolutely zero milk! We were told they ran out of milk the day before! How do you not have any milk? Totally unacceptable. We were traveling with our triplet 5 year old children. Most children drink milk or put it in their cereal. If I was the manager, I would have ran to Dollar General and bought milk with my own money for the hotel. Thankfully we will never be in this area again so I won't have to bring my own milk.”

“We visited on Jan 18th and 19th. When we arrived the night clerk greeted us with a smile. Was nice and courteous. In the morning we got a different clerk and she was very helpful and friendly as well. I believe they're names were Erica and Vanessa. Our rooms was clean. We had a good experience.”

“It’s not Baymont now, it is PetroStay Inn and Suites. This should get more than five stars in my opinion. If you are looking for a brand new, perfect looking hotel then just keep scrolling. Hotel snobs are going to miss a fabulous stay. This hotel is CLEAN. There may be some stains in the hallways - all hotels have that - but this one is clean and the staff is amazing.Fresh cooked breakfast - hot - not those powdered eggs you get in most places. Rooms are big - bathrooms are big - water pressure is strong - beds are amazing - good pillows. Kitchenette was clean and everything in it worked. The only thing I would suggest is next TV upgrade go ahead and get some bigger TVs - any other hotel these TVs would be the perfect size, but these rooms are so big it makes these TVs seem a little small.I’ve been in dozens of hotels over the last year due to work and this one is hands down my favorite so far.Good job guys!”
