I take my stripes cup in for ice refills and am charged $1.62, but when my wife goes in she isn't charged because it's "just ice".

I bought a pack of bubble gum which totaled to $2.04. Paid with a $5 and was given $2 back. Cashier told me that they no longer gave coins back in change. Why not just give me $3 back instead? What a rip off!
