I am absolutely obsessed with this shop. Multiple women in my family also adore this shop. Each piece is so beautiful & unique, yet priced reasonably. Also, the owner is very sweet and helpful!

Oh yes absolutely beautiful clothes and artistic crafts of all kinds. The problem is the lady who was working at the time was blatantly watching every step we took. Not asking if we needed help just glaring at us as we moved around each display of clothes. I have never been watched that way at a store. I am Hispanic and I believe the name Pilar is also of Latin origin so they should respect our people as well as our products. After all our money is green just like theirs. What a shame. I just read another review talking about being treated the same way. Don't believe the owners response. The employee had no intention of being close by in case we needed her. She was judging us and ready to call the police. Horrible experience.

My sister and I was treated like shop lifters from the moment we walked in the door. I was treated like a 2 year old and stalked throughout the entire store. Of course I was wearing a tie died tee shirt and jeans. I am 62 years old and had a credit card with an $8000 limit in my pocket and ready to spend. I felt unfairly judged and humiliated. We couldn't get out of there fast enough.

Pilar has a beautiful collection for folk art home decor, several different jewelry artists PLUS clothes! There is no other store like this in the area.

I will be showing my fiber art here during April. Lots of colors and themes. Fabric stitched and painted and stretched on boards. Come and see!

Fun, original and unique gift/clothing/jewelry store. Support local and Lamar Park. Some items are a bit pricey, but authentic Mexican vibe decor, bags and clothing.

Cool eclectic shop that has a little bit of everything fashion wise and some other novelty items. For Christmas I bought some gifts for friends and some "Mexico" oriented items, the price is a little high but you can't get this stuff like this anywhere else in the city with the quality it has. They also have some pretty awesome chocolate tamales which were pretty dang good! It's in the Lamar Park Shopping Center, go support local businesses!

When my grandmother suggested we go here because they carry dresses she likes, I knew my chances of falling in love with something were slim. For the most part, I was right, this was way over my head. Partially because I now live in North Carolina and I'd stick out on the sidewalk, partially because I guess I'm just not old enough to appreciate the style. But enter the rack of Mexican dresses (funny how I hated being made to wear them as a child but I adore them now). Beautiful, just beautiful, but pricey. They had them from many different regions but I've been favoring the heavily (all-over) embroidered dresses lately and after seeing the prices for one here ($270) I wanted to kick myself for not buying one at the beach at A Mano ($195). Same colors, extremely similar pattern, but I guess Pilar has higher rent to pay? The rest of the store carried flowy embroidered pieces, matching two piece sets, beautiful jewelry, Mexican trinkets, belts, shawls, accessories, and more. The women working were extremely nice, and of course I left with items in hand (minus the dress), but it probably won't be my first shop to return to when in town.
