My experience at The Hair Artist was a disaster. The shop is decent, very dark and the mirrors are up a little high to really see when you're sitting down or maybe I'm just short (4' 11"). My hair stylist was Amber and let me just say that maybe they call her the 'Picasso artist' by the way she absolutely butchered my hair. First, I explained to her what I wanted. I showed her a picture of a girl with long layers with curtain bangs and face framing. My hair was 5 day hair, long, and cut straight. When we were done with the consultation she asked if I wanted my hair washed. That should have been my first clue. Most hair stylists like to start with a clean canvas. When she did wash my hair it was so half-assed and there was no "massage" involved with this was which is fine but I'm laying out my experience. Then, we go to the chair and that's where the real tragic happened. She completely disregarded the picture I showed her, seemed like she only heard 'layers' and went to town. I've always had layers until my last cut but I have NEVER seen someone cut my hair the way she did. By the end, she didn't even offer to style my hair to cross check her work. That's when I knew this was going to be bad. I couldn't really tell because it wasn't styled. Had she styled it, I would have been horrified and not paid or tipped. I also didn't ask her to style it because it was clear she didn't want to so I wasn't going to pay for something she didn't even want to do in the first place. The layers are not blended, it's nothing but uneven, choppy, bookshelf 'layers'. There was no cross checking, no asking how I style/part my hair, nothing. She literally just wanted to run through my hair with scissors. Since this visit, I have been so upset with my hair and to fix it I have to go super short. When I say she BUTCHERED my hair I mean it. I want to leave this review to help the next person. If I could leave negative 5 stars I would. I'll leave a photo of what I asked for and what I got.

I was able to get a same-day appointment since I was visiting my MIL. So I had only a couple days to get a much needed haircut. We had great conversations and she gave me a really nice haircut. Quick, easy and love my hairstyle!

I haven't had my hair done in years. Amber was very attentive, transparent, and friendly. I wanted a complete change- hair cut and colored. To get the color I wanted required two sessions at least a week apart to not fry my hair (her recommendation). She worked with my schedule and plans on scheduling the second session. I am extremely happy with the results and that my hair remained healthy.Highly recommending Amber if looking for a stylist who will take care of you!

Great hair salon. Friendly. Professional, and always on time. Lynn has been doing my hair for a couple of years. She listens to me, adds suggestions, and makes me look good....(at least my husband thinks so!)
