I see is not enough people to take care of the store in some times of the day. But all is right, really the employees and the store and quality of the fish… I hope a little more of variety. But that’s me

We called to reserve a groominig session for our elderly dog, who has been going to this location for years and we had a favorite groomer (Mari or Marisol). We could not find availability for Mari and as it turns out, she was no longer working there. So we called and spoke to someone, asking about grooming and making sure they understood that he was an older dog, and Mari was very attentive to him and made sure his sessions weren't too long, etc. The person on the phone assured us that everything would be fine and that he would be scheduled with their trusted groomer, Hannah, who also works with older dogs. Great - we made the appointment and hung up. Our dog is also small and easy - 12lbs.
When we showed up, Hannah informed us that she would not be taking care of him and that it is a PetCo policy to deny dogs older than 15. New news to us, as both he and his brother had been groomed there plenty of times after age 15. When we asked why the change, she told us that our dog had an "accident" during his last appointment on the table, and because of that, she was not willing to take him. We explained that the "accident" happened 3 appointments ago, and he had a stomach bug, and has had very successful groomings since then. Not happy with that, Hannah then pointed out that we had a "pee-pad" with us and asked why. We told her the answer, which was it was a precaution for the car ride. She still insisted that it would be against PetCo policy and she would not groom him. She then recommended we have a vet or mobile groomer take him, at which point we thanked her and left.
We also have been Vital Care members for years, use your app and we live close by. However, we will be closing our accounts, deleting the app and fulfilling our pet needs elsewhere, as Hannah has demonstrated that our business is not important. We have also just adopted another dog, so we will need to find care and ongoing grooming and supplies, toys for him, and we have 3 parrots, which are quite expensive when it comes to food varieties and toys that get chewed up in a day. Luckily for us, Amazon delivers.
It is unfortunate that after years of being a PetCo customer, the lasting memory we will have is of Hannah turning us away. When the subject of grooming comes up in our circles of friends (as it already has, and we have secured a new groomer) this is the story that will be told.

This Petco location is by far our favorite in the area. The staff (both in the store and the grooming department) are so friendly and always willing to help in anyway they can. Their Vital Care program is 100% worth every penny. Can’t recommend Petco and this location enough!

The petco in Colleyville is a really nice place with friendly and helpful staff.
Their grooming department lead by Hannah is exceptional. Hannah has been grooming my beagle for three years now and goes above and beyond every time.

They have four or five ferrets in a small pen. If I owned a pet store I'd figure out a way to prevent it from looking like a prison. And the canned responses from the owner let you know these poor animas have chnce. A ferret is hyper sentient like a dog or a cat. They shouldn't be kept in a prison.

I’ve been coming here for years now. Mary L was my dog’s groomer, super nice. I don’t know if she left or what but today I gave another groomer my dog. She literally shaved her. I just wanted a clean up. My dog was not even matted, I literally checked and send her there. I went to pick her up and she was all shaved. It’s because of the lazy coworker who did not wanted to brush her. My dog don’t like her hair short but that groomer shaved her and there’s little wounds in her stomach area as well. Please do not go there. They will shave your dog so that they do not have to brush them. They’re lazy, customer service is 0. Never coming back here again.

Been coming here for years but I’ll be honest the up keep of the pets there is awful compared to other Pet stores I’ve been too. The hamsters and gerbils have small cages with small wheels that they can’t run on. The worst of all, is the little green cheek conure. Poor bird is so neglected. This bird is discounted for sale, and its cage is filthy, its feathers are dull and he looks stressed, only 1 toy. Management needs to do waybetter than this! It’s very upsetting.
If I had $500 to spare, I would take this bird home.

Every single time I purchase wax worms from Petco, they're all dead within 24 hours. It's ridiculous. They also don't keep their poor conure's cage clean at this location. It's heartbreaking .The staff is normally pretty friendly, floors always look clean.
