Went to Sew Vac and the repair man immediately took me and my machine to the repair desk. He turns on the sewing machine (without threading, putting a fabric underneath the presser foot OR checking to see if the bobin had thread) and it reads an error. Says there’s a computer board issue and there’s nothing he can do and he’s sure about it because he’s been in this business for over 30 years blah blah blah. Because I am totally new to machine sewing and embroidery, I was CRUSHED. Then he tries to get me to buy an $800 machine after thinking I had wasted $300 on the machine I currently had. When I told him I couldn’t, he tried everything from “put it on a credit card” to “this is dirt cheap and I should be selling it for more!”. When he realized I wasn’t going to budge he very quickly took my machine and all but shooed me into my car to go. I wanted to look for fabric but I figured if my machine was broken there wasn’t a need.Now to the interesting part. I get back home and I post a question to a Facebook group asking if anyone could help me fix this. Imagine my surprise when I learn that most sewing machines have a sensor for the thread! So I thread the machine, put bobbin in and what do you know. It works perfectly. I highly doubt someone who’s been repairing machines for over 30 years would not know about this. I felt so angry and like that man only wanted to tell me my machine was broken so he could sell me another one. I gave an extra star because the collection of fabric seems awesome at the store, but I don’t want to spend any of my money on a place that tried to scam me 30 seconds into my first visit. Really is a shame.

I consider myself blessed to have a great shop so close to my home! Everyone at Sew Vac City is so friendly and helpful. They have a great and ever-increasing supply of quilting fabric and notions. I love that I can always find the right solid or blenders for my projects there.

Has a great experience with the Sew Vac team. Took my vacuum in to be repaired and they were incredibly helpful and up front, even though the news wasn't what I was hoping for I'd definitely go back

I’ve taken several classes at sew vac over the last year from Cathy. She is an excellent teacher! I’ve learned so much and now have the skills and confidence to sew! I made a Quillow, placemats in the free motion quilt class, a foot book in one of the clubs and several other projects in classes. They offer several clubs that I’ve taken which has helped enhance sewing skills and taught me more about how to use my sewing machine. I can’t say enough good things about Cathy and how helpful she is! Judy Horton with the accuquilt club is awesome. I made my first quilt blocks with her help!

Very friendly place to visit, many customers were eager to help and share tips and experiences with the different machines available for sale, and everyone was cheerful and ready to serve.

The manager Mark could not have been any nicer! I used their Bernini long arm to quilt my quilt. Mark, Ashton were both very helpful and are right there to assist you with anything. Setup, bobbins etc can be all handled by them…very nice! The renting process is smooth. They have also expanded and added many bolts of fabric. This is my go to place for great customer service and for all types of fabric, batting backing etc for quilts.

Sewing machine Mecca! Sew Vac City has a huge selection of sewing machines, additional quilting and sewing accessories, and a great selection of quality fabrics! I just bought a new Brother machine and had the best lesson from Malcolm as he explained how everything worked! We went over all of the extra features as well! They have a friendly staff who is eager to help and answer any questions.

Malcom is the absolute best. I was extremely nervous getting back into an old hobby, and he made me feel so comfortable. No question was a stupid question and he had all the answers. Will be back soon!

So great! Amazing variety. The sheer volume of quality quilting fabric will have you treasure hunting for no small amount of time. I found pieces I fell in love with as well as specific pieces for which I had been searching. Love this place!

The people at Sew Vac City are very knowledgeable and very helpful with any problems or difficulties that come up. When in doubt "just call Mark" for any supplies or equipment that you need and everything will be okay ASAP.
