419 NW Loop #436, Carthage“HEB is the best grocery store in Texas. This is a great little store! If you are use to going into other HEB locations the selection here is a little more limited than most of the locations you find down south but the quality of everything is above anything in the North East Texas Area! I actually make a special trip from the Marshall Longview area just to shop at HEB. I really hope they expand more into North East Texas soon. A store in Longview, Mt Pleasant or Texarkana would be amazing!”

4883 FM 999, Gary City“Real hamburger meat cooked fresh everyday. Locally grown vegetables across the fm 999 straight out of my cousin Stewart Davis's greenhouse. Best burgers in the county I think! If you don't like homestyle cooking with fresh, Local, homegrown produce , good, high quality ground beef and a real neighborly attitude then you may not like it. It all starts with current owner Mark Johnson, his friendly, laid back style and traditional family values will make you feel welcome and right at home the moment you walk into the store. The kitchen, which includes cousin Becky, is just like the owner. They treat everyone like home folk and are very conscientious about getting your order to you as quickly as possible without sacrificing quality or freshness. One last thing...You don't have to worry about doubling the total dollar amount on those old gas pumps..Mark got that fixed last summer so...What you see is what you get!!”
“Looks like a small countyside gas station, but they got a mean grill inside. The gas prices where the same as seen in Henderson and Carthage. The burgers and onion rings are definitely worth the drive. Philly cheesesteak was just OK. Next time I'm trying the hot wings. Can't wait!”
“I visited the pharmacy on this trip to Brookshires. - Before moving back to Carthage, I used CVS for my perscriptions but the CVS in Carthage seemed to not have my meds or the brand they carried wasn't covered by my insurance. I transferred my meds to Brookshires Pharmacy and haven't had any problems since, the staff is very friendly also. The Brookshires Pharmacy does close at 6pm so make sure to schedule pick up before then. As for the store itself, it's always clean and well stocked. We buy all of our Birthday cakes from the bakery there, best cake at a good price.”
8AM - 10PM
122 Cottage Rd, Carthage“A well needed store in a very small community. Isles need to to cleared of new stock though. Hard to maneuver buggies. My opinion is they need to restock AFTER hours. Love the store tho. Will always return”
“It was alright, nice costumer service. I just don't like that way they do bags lol. We Texans don't do that but it's cool. its good to know & learn from other states.”
“There's a couple of painted pallets used to as a sign that says "stop here for one of Linda's big juicy cheeseburgers and fries. Best thing in Clayton, Texas" it might also be the only thing in Clayton as well. But, after a day of trying pop and pop greasy spoons in rural west Texas, and all of them bland, this was both lives up to the sign and tastes like home. Albeit a home that never existed, but such a comfortable feeling inhaling the burger and the tamales. If you're heading from Shreveport to Houston, stop here. It's not sexy, close your eyes and think of something else if you need that, but it's got a bouquet. So there's more than one of the senses being enjoyed here.”
