Several years ago, I took my wedding ring to "Wise" Choice Jewelers to have it repaired. Three of the six prongs had broken off and needed to be re-tipped so that I would not lose the diamond. I was pleased with the price, $10 per prong seemed reasonable. I was a little irritated by how long it took the shop to give me my ring back. They had given me a timeframe of a few weeks, and after not hearing from them after the stated date, I called and it still wasn’t finished yet. Finally after several weeks (and several phone calls asking for an update) I got my ring back. I wasn’t thrilled with the work, but I was glad to have my wedding ring, and glad that my diamond hadn’t fallen out.Well, I found out the hard way that you get what you pay for. A few years later, the cheap re-tipping failed, only this time I lost one of the little diamonds in my ring. I was naive, not knowing where else to go, and not being knowledgeable about jewelry, I took my ring back to "Wise" Choice to have them repair it again. I thought that perhaps after time jewelry just needed repairing and this was normal…. ? It turns out this was a very POOR choice. Another whole frustrating experience of having them keep my ring for WEEKS and longer than they told me it would take before I finally got it back .It wasn’t long before the cheap prongs failed yet again. This time, I was so frustrated that I decided to find a better jeweler who actually knows what they were doing. I was finally ready to fork out some money to have my ring PROPERLY fixed. And, yes, I had to pay quite a bit more, but I learned my lesson about getting what you pay for.Sadly, because I did not go to a professional in the first (or second) place, I had to have quite a bit of work done on my wedding ring to fix the fiasco that "Poor Choice" Jewelers did.The friendly, knowledgeable staff at the REAL jewelry repair shop (Gold Tender Jewelry on Base Rd) showed me through a magnifying glass the tips that “Poor Choice Jewelers” had done and what porous cheap material they used. I saw for myself all the holes throughout the material. No wonder it was brittle and failed. The tips were all wonky and uneven, some closer together and some farther apart. They were globby and thick. Like the cheap material was just plopped on and hardened wherever it fell.Gold Tender Jewelry told me they would have my ring fixed in two weeks, and it was finished in LESS time than they had estimated. It was like NEW. Beautiful, delicate, professional, perfect. You REALLY get what you pay for, and I couldn’t be happier with my wedding ring now.If you want CHEAP, uneven, shoddy, globby work with solder that is porous and not real gold, than go ahead, make the poor choice like I did (Twice) and entrust your treasured jewelry with “POOR Choice Jeweler”I attached pictures so that you can see for yourself.

Very disappointing business practices. Will never do business or recommend again. Never consign jewelry for resale to this business!!!!

Thrilled with the craftsmanship to shorten a bracelet! The work is like the original, and the polished piece is stunning. Thank you for making this keepsake wearable and a show piece.

I brought in my custom made wedding ring to be resized. When I picked it up it was perfect and was dazzling like it was brand new. I am very happy to be wearing it again. These ladies are fantastic! Highly recommend.

Back story to the review I'm about to leave! I asked back in March about a reputable jeweler that could take my wedding rings and my Grandmothers wedding ring and come up with a new design that Included both diamonds from each of the rings! 3 rings in total. Now fast forward almost 6 months and this is the review I'd like to give for WISE jewelers in Cibolo off of Main Street. Do Not and I mean Do not bring your valued , loved and sentimental jewelry to this location. I have had the worst experience and have been left with nothing but melted gold , loose diamonds and a ring that's been taken apart. I was quoted about 4 months for the owner to redesign my rings and come up with a new band plus 2 extra rings with the smaller diamonds to make the bands. I called in July when it was supposed to be ready and was told they were behind and it would be early August. I then called last week and they said they were finishing up and getting them shined they would be ready by end of week. I never heard from them. So I called yesterday and I kept getting the runaround, so I decided to go up there because who would be able to lie to your face. Well that's exactly what happened. I went in and the lady had said they weren't ready and they were still casting the mold. Which mind you last week I was told they were done. at this point I'm livid and all I want is my rings back. She said she had them in the back and it would take hours for her to get them ready. I said I really hope you haven't melted the gold down already which she had. needless to say I asked for her to get them for me now. That's when she went back and had her assistant come to the front to tell me that the rings were not even in the store. The owner then came back up as I asked for her and was told that nothing had been even started and that the rings were just melted down and not even in started. I asked why she would lie not once but numerous times? She never could give me a valid excuse. So please please do not take your business to this lady. If you can't handle a job don't accept it. I went today and thankfully had my rings but am still left with just loose stones , melted down gold and my grandmothers wedding rings which has all the smaller diamonds missing. Edit to add: it now looks as though I'm missing gold I'm so devastated. Weighed what I had verses what my appraisal was and it's not the same and literally missing an entire band of gold.

I won’t lie that I was a bit nervous after reading some of the recent reviews. But don’t be! I had three items repaired (and ultimately cleaned)- a beloved cross pendant, my husband’s watch, and a heritage pocket watch necklace that had a ton of sentimental value. The work was absolutely beautiful and extremely reasonable. Yes, 3 digits hurts the wallet but for what was done, it could have been far worse and I regained beloved pieces. I wish you could see how truly sparkly and shiny my cross came out! I was awwwwwed! Also, Kim is direct, but hilarious and friendly. And DD (Patty/Patsy?) is super friendly. We sat back and talked for several minutes about the beautiful stories behind some of the pieces. As for completion time, I was quoted a week-ish. That happened to fall in a holiday week so it took about a week and a half. I picked up at two weeks bc I failed to read their hours (my fault not theirs) and missed them on Friday evening. For three pieces, is not a problem at all!I will absolutely return to Wise Choice Jewelers to have my future jewelry repairs completed. I have to get my ring resized for this summer and these swollen fingers!! ?. Thanks Kim and DD!

I've been working with Kim for a lot of years. Kim's work is wonderfully creative and she always make sure that even if it's a repair it is done properly. I highly recommend Wise jewelers and I love the fact that it's supporting local business owners! Wise jewelers Adds to the small Main Street feeling of Cibolo. I just love this jewelry store!

Love Wise Jewelers, love Kim! I won't go anywhere else! When I lost my eye sight in one eye she even gave me jewelers eye loop magnifier. I buy a lot of estate jewelry then take to Kim to make sure everything is good, she thought it would help me. The shop is definitely a lot busier than it use to be, but that's because everyone knows how good it is!

Kim is rude and argumentative. I've never met anyone so dismissive and hateful not just towards me but her employees as well. Will never come to this hole of an establishment again. I can't believe she's still in business. I do not do well when people gaslight me for problems they create, all I wanted was an update on my items and she became hostile anytime I asked for my jewelry back. Her behavior was pure criminal.

Took my watch in for a simple band replacement and they took three days to do it and only worked on it when I called back to ask for the status. Then they charged me $35+ for one that broke the next day. Took my watch back and they kept it for three weeks without fixing it. Multiple times they told me it would be ready that day or the next day. They never called me back to say it was ready or to give me a status. I went back three times and was always promised it that afternoon or the next day. Finally went back to get my watch and a refund and they would only give me store credit (as if I wanted to do any more business with them!) They weren't going to give me my money back and when I told them they were stealing, Kim got all huffy and wrote me a check. She was very nasty towards me and argumentative. Terrible customer service here and I was trying to support local small business. I will not be back! Took my watch to another shop and realized they had kept my pins that hold the watch band on. Despite the missing pins, the new place had a new band on my watch within 10 minutes!

This is in response to Curtis Marion who wrote a review about his wife’s experience at Wise Choice Jewelers. Curtis was not present when his wife came in to have her ring cut off her finger, her ring was a thicker band and was cutting into her finger, we couldn’t have used our ring cutting tool for this task. She asked me what she could do for the swelling in her hands, I asked her if she was retaining water,Sometimes when you retain water your hands and fingers will swell. This has happened to many people including myself. I have found that a ring may not fit in the AM hours, but will be a perfect fit in the PM.I did not make this about a weight issue, as I recall this customer was a beautiful woman who needed help.I suggested she go to the firehouse that is around the corner from our store. They are the only place I know of that could safely cut her ring off. I learned about this from a customer who volunteered at the firehouse. It is unfortunate that this customer’s experience was unpleasant and perhaps a bit misunderstood, but I would like Curtis and his beautiful wife to know, it was never my intention to upset anyone.

Always had a good experience with this local shop. They have repaired several of my wife's rings and necklaces with no issues. I only bring my watches and jewel to this location for repairs. Why go anywhere else when it gets done locally and within an acceptable price range.
