Been a customer for like 10+ years have had over 100k in and out of the bank just in the last year. Tried to order new checks. For one they cost an arm and a leg to order from the company they print with, from their online portal. Velocity has always had two addresses for me on file, a mailing and physical address(without a mail box). They have the wrong one on file for shipping checks below! So I called to get it fixed so I could order. They said they could order it for me, then proceeded to tell me the shipping price would be either $10 for non tracking and $24 for tracking (f#cking outrageous prices). I told her I have it on my end that there are more shipping options, and one is free. She argued with me saying well maybe if I call the printing company they can charge me the correct price... yet it says here that I have to contact the bank to get the address changed... velocity drops the ball and provides them the wrong address, and they cannot correct it. So me the customer has to just eat it and pay more for shipping... No thanks I will take my money else where!! My roommate says his checks are super cheap to order at his credit union. I guess it pays to be at a better union!

For the most part, they are great. However, I did just have an interesting interaction with one of their customer service reps via phone. I was told they have the wrong address for me when my current address is the only address they have. The rep was pretty much arguing with me saying my current address is incorrect and I need to fill out a form to change it. Why would they mail me things to my current address if they didn’t have this one on file? ? But overall, velocity is pretty great. One interaction with one person doesn’t change that.

I’ve had difficulties with velocity since I opened an account with them a year ago but I gave them the benefit of the doubt due to lack of staffing from Covid. From consistently having to wait at least 20 minutes to be helped weather it’s in person or on the phone to bank tellers with awful customer service I’m done using Velocity as my bank. I was unable to access my bank account this weekend and staff would not answer the phone or return the phone call even though I waited over 45 minutes. Upon finally getting in touch with them this morning (after waiting 30 minutes) to discuss the issue, no regard was placed on the branch for not being accessible or helpful this weekend. I expressed my frustration and requested for fees to be waived on my account that we due to inability to access my account since I could not get in touch with branch and was told it was not their fault. I do not recommend banking with velocity, especially the cedar park branch.

I have been a 22 year member of Velocity Credit Union. Along with a 25 year member of USAA being a military veteran. I prefer Velocity over USAA and do all my banking needs with Velocity Credit Union. You can’t go wrong with using Velocity for all your banking needs.

I have been using Velocity Credit Union for six years. The Cedar Park branch is the one I use most. Everyone is helpful and friendly, even going the extra mile to help. Love Velocity Credit Union!

I recently had fraudulent charges made from my debit account. All of the charges were removed from my account, except one that is still pending a week later.

I have had such a nightmare experience with this bank. This last year has been the worst experience with ANY bank or financial institution I have ever had. After the big update they had, my paychecks that I have had direct deposited every morning on the same day for the last 4 years from the same company stopped being posted on the back end but showed available on my available balance, and I was dinged for every single pending charge I made, they have taken hundreds of dollars in fees and told me it wasn't their fault. The balance on my account fluctuates drastically from hundreds to zero to thousands and back. When I have called I've been told it's my fault or they can't see what is going on, they told me it was the post date on my check, the third time it happened they told me they did have an issue before where members were not getting their deposits on time but it was to late to credit my fees and I should have called sooner, well I had called and they said they couldn't see anything and to call my employer...I woke up today with my account now 700 over drawn even though I had my check deposited yesterday morning and showed available.... I would never recommend this bank to anyone it has put so much hardship on me this year, I have moved my deposits and will be officially moving as far away from them as I can, the FTC will also be hearing from me.

If I could give them 0 stars I would. My car loan was through Velocity. I had no issues up until I wanted to pay it off. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE! The worst experience I have ever had. I was hung up on or "disconnect" almost every time I called. You really don't talk to any one that works at branch, just people in their call center that don't seem very happy and or not helpful. I eventually was able to get the pay off amount for my vehicle, and I had the lady update my address while I had her on the phone. I drove an hour to deliver the check. I was told there was an over payment of 4.36. Okay, no big deal I thought, even though I got the payment information from their customer service people. The teller told me they would just put the money in the savings and that I could close it at anytime. I said thank you and drove off.I tried calling Velocity to find out when they report to the credit bureaus, waited on hold and Brittany transferred me with me having any idea she was transferring me to someone else. I sat on hold probably 15 min just to be "disconnected". That was yesterday. Today I call back to try to get the same information just to be told by Robin that she doesn't know and someone will have to call be back, fine. I noticed that my savings account with the 4.36 showed negative for .64 cents. Curious to find out that I was charged a 5.00 returned mail fee???? WT is a returned mail fee? I asked Robin about it and she said it was because they tried to send a check for the 4.36. Why in the world are they sending me a check and why didn't it go to the address I gave them. So, I hold again for a supervisor who can maybe explain this stupidity. I will never use Velocity again for anything and would definitely never recommend them. The people at the branches might be good but their customer service is the WORST I have ever dealt with. Something that should be so simple turns into a mess. Velocity and their customer service is a soup sandwich to say the least. I just talked to the Supervisor for the Customer Service Center. They charge 5.00 for returned mail regardless and they lady never updated my address. Be aware people. Wow. I cannot even express how much I hate Velocity.

They reset their loan payment service and require to set up accounts as if I’d never logged in before, although the loan is three years old. I can’t find the account number so I tried to call and got transferred around for thrift minutes. Their website says to login to find the account number or look at checks. If I could log in I wouldn’t need the account number and I don’t have a checking account there. Guess I’ll just skip my payments until they call me!!
