This company has been a nightmare I can’t get away from. Julie and Hector are very unprofessional. Julie did my taxes in 2016. She did not put my main w-2 income in the system. I did not know as the amount of the return was similar to what I normally get. A little over year later I was audited by the IRS and made aware of her doings. I was fined $600. Because that was money I made unreported I owed that money. So I paid. I went back to tax Masterz for them to make this right. Reimburse either all or partial of the paid services. Julie claimed I w/held the W2 from her. Which I went through getting the company to email it to me as they are in CA and I needed that last W2 to file. Hector told me there is video footage he could pull. Then they stop accepting my calls and not returning them. Which leads me to the next issue. I am from California. Now in 2020 California tax board is saying I didn’t file for 2015. And if I owe they will penalize me for up to 40 months. I am contacting them yet again. And hector, who now can return a call. States he will file it for free but he and the company is not liable. That I should have reminded the tax rep to file my ca taxes and then she would have told me there is a separate fee. That some ppl just come and file their federal and choose not to file their state. However I come from a state where I have to file both. So in over 10 yrs H&R filed both seamlessly and I wasn’t charged separately so there is noted experience I should be looking for.. And didn’t know that’s how it works. Now in 13 out of the 14 years of getting my taxes prepared I’ve only been penalized after using their services! I paid them almost $600 to do my taxes. And it’s been HELL. I’m paying more because of them. I started doing my own taxes and still haven’t had the issues they’ve brought to me. They refuse to refund my money. And offered to do my form 504NR, for me. Which I would never trust them after what they caused me. Read the other review as the $600 IRS happened to another client. They are unethical. Hector constantly stated I waited 4 years to say something as if I knew about this and let penalties rack up. The Ca state just contacted me and I reached out immediately. As when the IRS did I reached out immediately. He acted as if I have control over when they audit and I could have avoided this. He is right I could have avoided this by not using his company.

Make sure your tax preparer knows what he’s doing. Ours claimed credits we weren’t entitled too for years and now we owe the IRS money. Has our tax preparer returned our calls? Of course not. Shame on you Hector Morales . Years and years of service and referrals to you and now you are nowhere to be found, not even to answer simple questions for us. The BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU will be hearing from us.

Very unprofessional never there when they say there going to be there we've used them for 2 years now because it was convenient and we were so busy didint have time to look elsewhere now I regret we didint this year our check was suppose to be direct deposited turns out they made a mistake not only with us I guess but many more and the check has been sitting there with them for over a week and a half I only found out today because I called asking for the amount so I could track it online and I'm told this didint even bother to call us who knows how much time would of past had I not called wife went to get the check was told the owner would be there an an hour came back place was closed this same thing Has happened many times the owner and wife aren't professional don't keep there appointments last time we use them no matter how busy we are in the end we lose more time with this nonsense

Save your time and money and do not have these people do your taxes! We got a letter from the IRS that we owed money from a previous year and we wanted to understand what the heck they were talking about, so we took the letter to Taxmasterz. 2 weeks later, after numerous phone calls made to these people, we finally received an email response from Julie, the agent. All it said was 'you need to pay the IRS.' That's it! No explanation AT ALL. We were told the owner would call us back on 3 separate occasions and we've still not heard from him. Now we are trying to navigate the IRS site ourselves and the filing deadline has passed so we owe penalties. This people are bottom feeders interested only in screwing their customers and are totally unprofessional. Do not trust them with your time sensitive materials!!!

Terrible and dishonest service. The owner, Hector, promises money that you will never receive. This place is a joke and borderline fraud. This place is at the very lease unethical. I recommend that no one trust their money with this business.

This will be my 6th year getting my taxes done here! I drive all the way from Garland to work with them. That's a lot of tax places to pass... but it's so worth it. They are personable, pleasant to work with, helpful, timely, and truly care about getting you the most back out of those hard earned taxes you have to pay. Nothing has ever been filed incorrectly.
I won't go anywhere else. #loyal #stackinpaperrrr
