believe the low reviews.overpriced and argumentative if you question pricing.wondering why a shop owner would get defensive about his own pricing tells the tale of this shop.

"A hidden jewel in the back of an antique shop. Even as far as retro game shops go, this one's got some rare finds and really good stuff. Prices are fair and close to eBay."...is what I said when I reviewed this place pre-COVID. Over the last couple of years, it seems the owner has lost his mind. There is a LOT of cool stuff in stock and he's got just about every "Holy Grail" retro game you can think of, which is cool too see, but the prices are insulting. You'd do better just to stick to eBay.

There was some cool sealed games if you have that much money to drop but the rest of the retro games in this small corner of an antique shop were nothing special.

It’s a okay place for rare games but they’re extremely overpriced vs the prices on eBay & Amazon

Tldr; A good selection of games priced at scalpers prices.A hipsters paradise is a fairly nice little collection of games in the back of an old antique shop. The staff for the antique shop themselves are little old ladies that are exceptionally nice. The selection of normal and slightly rare games across platforms (Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox, etc) covers a wide set of generations from SNES to current gen.The big distinction, and why I've rated the booth so low, is that most of the rare games are 3 to 4 times market price even at pandemic pricing. Extremely high market games such as Rule of Rose ($1500), Clayfighter ($2000), Cubivore ($900), are much much higher than they should be. This feels more like a personal collection with no intent to sell.

This is a really charming little antiques store, with a surprisingly excellent retro games section. The prices were all fair, and they had stuff there I haven't seen anywhere else. The service was also great, and I never felt overly pressured to buy anything. I'll definitely be coming back once I have some more cash to burn.

So. A Hipster's Paradise, from what I saw, is just a very small back corner of the antique shop in downtown Carrollton. The antique part is cool but the retro games section was not anything special. I was really excited for it but there just wasn't much there.

Really, really cool. They had a lot of rare stuff I wasn't expecting, like Suikoden 2 and Dragon Warrior.

Great selection, a bit of everything. An absolute dream for retro games.
