Excellent place to have fun
Restrooms: The bathrooms are not 100% clean, but there are bathrooms
Picnic area: If you arrive early there are good places

Awesome place to bring your dogs to swim. $20 fee makes it impossible for families to come every week. Such a shame.

We visited Comal Park, Canyon Lake 6/13/2024, paid $20 a car load. We were not informed about how low the water actually was, and we were completely shocked! We drove to side where signs said “swim beach”, but went to the left side where the little island is, but as we got closer, we didn’t see any water! Then turns out the water dropped like 20 feet, we had to climb DOWN the cliff/ rock wall to actually get in the lake.
It was pretty scary and dangerous to climb down… but we wanted to make the best of our visit.
My husband had to climb down first and placed rocks to create steps for me and my kids to climb down.
As we finally got down, the water was so nice, clear and good temperature. It was still deep water, but not what we were used to.
Just about three years ago, the water was above the rocks, and we were able to sit down on rocks and it was so nice and enjoyable.
Now, it’s slippery and dangerous trying to climb DOWN the cliff rocks just to get in the water.
Then at 6:00 the park rangers are driving around shouting “time to go, parks closing” but signs says closer is 7:30.
The restrooms are disgusting.
I will probably not go back.
In the pictures, you’ll see all the rock along the wall, the water used to be above that!

Super muddy the farther you get from the entrance no sand or pebbles and lots of sharp objects in the mud. Everyone had cuts on their feet. One even got stitches. The mud

The shore is very ugly and muddy, you can't swim with children, don't come! I left very disappointed because it is not what is shown in the images. It's okay where there are rocks but it's too deep for children, it's not really for children.

Wheres the water? Dryer than the people robbing money upfront. They don’t let you know it’s low and when you asked for a refund they claim to have signs of “ Drout” but the only signs there are is “boat ramp closed” liars and stealers
