THEY WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU! EVEN IF YOU'RE NOT OF SOUND MIND!
TLDR: They took advantage of my mom's husband who had early signs of dementia and had no business buying a car.
My review is from what happened to my mom and her husband back in Oct 2019. They just moved here and 5 months later their Equinox was having issues starting. They had it towed to this dealership because they didn't know of any good auto shops and didn't want to get scammed (how ironic). My mom's husband was showing early signs of dementia which we didn't know at the time, but was still able to function, he just forgot things easily. His speech was also a little slurred at this point but you can still make out what he's saying. Enough to sell him a car apparently. So there's obvious signs that he has some sort of mental issue going on. We just didn't know how bad it was at the time.
So he goes with the tow truck to see about getting the car fixed. They try selling him a car instead, and because of his mental issues, he got excited and probably forgot why he was there. So they're at the part where he's signing the paperwork. Get this, they couldn't understand what he was saying so they called my mom! They told her what was going on and she said the car he was buying was too small for their needs, Chevy Trax. She heads down there to figure out what's going on and he had signed the paperwork already. Even after my mom said they didn't want that car.
The car they were trying to sell them was "new" yet it had 3500 miles on it because it was a loaner LOL. My mom asked them why are they saying it's new. They tell her anything under 5k is new -_- My mom is not from the states and has never bought a car from a dealership. Her husband was the one that would negotiate when he was of sound mind. So they get the car and it's dirty. They said to bring it by tomorrow so they can clean it. Never in my life have I heard of a dealership giving a dirty "new" car to a customer. So the next day, he brings it back and they "clean" it. He gets back home and my mom sees that it's still dirty. At this point she didn't want to deal with them anymore.
His monthly payments came out to 570, 386 was going to principle, 184 to interest. That's almost a 50% interest rate. Needless to say, don't ever do business with these people. I don't know if they have new people working there now. I just wanted to make sure nobody else gets taken advantage of. Oh and the car had issues but that's another story.

Buying a car is never a fun experience, but my purchasing experience here was nothing but seamless! Gerardo was so helpful and kind and I highly recommend giving him a visit if you need to purchase a vehicle!

I always hate the new car buying process But Gerardo Escobedo an awesome salesman at Lipscomb made it pain free and fun. We showed up close to quitting time just to look at a few cars they had on the lot. Gerardo super helpful but not pushy and never once rushed us even though it was late. We ended up finding what we wanted and the price was great and the signing process was quick and easy. I would recommend them 100% to any looking for a new or used ride. Hit up Gerardo Escobedo he’s super nice and very knowledgeable. Awesome place to buy your next ride.

I live in Sarasota, FL and wanted to help my daughter purchase a reliable used vehicle. I found Lipscomb Chevrolet online and found a 2011 Lexus RX350 on their site I called and spoke to Aaron on August 31st and talked about my plan. He was very responsive and knowledgeable about the process. The entire process was smooth. Do smooth that my daughter picked up her new vehicle on 9/2. Thank you, Aaron and the finance department.
