My fiance and I were looking for a compassionate and patient-focused Veterinary clinic for our dog Pirelli. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Dr. Richardson came into the office, introducing himself and shaking hands. He also made contact with Pirelli and made sure to connect with him. He did a very thorough exam and really engaged with Pirelli. After the exam, he broke down his findings and answered all our questions. Truly happy with the experience we had and will be coming back for further exams and treatments.

We love the doctor as well as all of the staff at Bulverde. They are knowledgeable, kind, caring, responsive and have never once made me feel anything negative about my final decisions on treatment. The doctor provides the gamut of what can be done in various situations and the cost associated so I can make informed decisions and they support me in those decisions which is so important.

Great experience with Dr Richardson over the last year with our new pup vaccinations and neuter/spay procedures for our Scottish Terriers with him. The front office staff annd the Techs are also always super friendly and willing to help answer any of your questions if the doctor is busy or the doctor calls you when he gets a chance. They really take the time to give you information. Really all round great care for our dogs and reassurance for us paw parents!!

Dr. Richardson is a good vet. The reason for the low score is for the male tech and some of the office staff. I took my dog who was coughing to get checked out. The male tech kept telling me that it was probably kennel cough because she had been groomed three days prior. I assured him it was not kennel cough and it might be due to her heart condition. He kept insisting it was kennel cough. They conducted a lot of tests and sure enough, she tested negative for kennel cough. How can I know better than the tech? Also, I thought he was too rough with my dog. She was only 9 lbs, and he could have been more gentle. Was. Yes, I ended up putting her down that evening. She had congenital heart failure and was having a hard time breathing. I really do wish Dr. Richardson would have put her down in the afternoon when I asked him if it was time. He said we would know after she took the pills prescribed. Well, two hours later she took a turn for the worse. I was upset because I did not want her to suffer, and if he had put her down that afternoon, she would not have suffered. Now, the staff, kept dropping the ball when Chewy called (couple of times) for verification of my dog's renal condition so I could get her the Rx food for her diet. I will not take my pets, again.

I've been bringing my pets to this animal hospital for 14 years...two dogs and 3 cats over the years. As the pets age, the doctor and staff are so compassionate. And if there is something going on that can't be handled, he refers us to the specialty hospital. Dr. Richardson gives his undivided attention at all of our appointments, like we are the only patients in his day. He is smart and knowledgeable. Techs are awesome. Front desk staff is friendly. Couldn't ask for anything better.

Dr. Richardson is AWESOME!! We are new to the area, and my senior dog has been having anxiety and aging issues. He did a very extensive history and physical, talked me through everything. NEVER had a vet spend that kind of time and detail with me! He's very kind and thoughtful. Also, very reasonable rates! Oh, and my dog loved him too!! ❤️ Highly recommend!!

I have been taking my pets to Bulverde Animal hospital for a few years now and have had nothing but a positive experience. Dr. Richardson and his staff are always so patient and understanding and don't push, what can sometimes, feel like unnecessary treatments or products. My pets and family appreciate the care they provide our four legged loved ones ☺️

Excellent care for the family dog --- everyone from the front desk to the doctor and technicians are efficient, professional, compassionate and friendly. Treated with many small dog cookies, even the patient was happy, despite usually dreaded shots and nail clipping.

First appt for pet with this vet, and was able to be seen that same day of calling due to my pet having seizures. Staff was very efficient, friendly, knowledgeable. Dr was great with communication, and truly seemed to care. Dr also did a follow-up call the next day to check on my pet.

I was a bit nervous taking Oscar in as he get a little ansy w/ strangers, but when I saw him walk off w/ Sarah for his vitals and the way he was at ease (he can be a grumpy old man @ times when someone is messing with his bottom) w/ Dr. Richardson, I knew I had come to the right place. Thanks so much for being so sweet w/ my little grumps! ❤️
