This review is not against the Buda, TX branch but on RBFCU in general.
On July 30, 2025, I submitted an online application with required documentation for a business checking account. I immediately received an auto-response stating that I would be contacted after the review of my application. Almost a week went by and I never heard from RBFCU. I then made a call and after being bounced around a few times, I spoke with a gentleman that told me my application could not move forward until I became a member. I didn't think about that from the get-go, but it makes sense. Okay. I asked the gentleman why no one reached out to let me know about membership requirements, he said he didn't know why. So, I proceed to apply online for RBFCU membership and a checking account. Well, you can't have only a checking account, you must also open a savings account. Then I'm told my wife needs to open a second savings account if I want her to have access to the business account. Why two savings accounts? Mind you the one checking account is in both of our names. Once I'm notified the checking and savings accounts are approved, I deposited some funds in each. I'm told once again that my business checking account is under review. A week goes by. Crickets. I call RBFCU and told that I will be receiving an email. Another week. Crickets. On September 3, 2025, I decide to visit an Austin, TX branch since calls and emails are not being answered. I'm greeted at the door by a gentleman and I explain my need. He takes me to an office, seats me in front of a monitor screen and tells me someone will speak with me via video conference. I could've done this from my home or office? Anyway. The lady I speak with tells me I was sent an email on August 28, 2025 and I need to respond to it. I quickly searched my email on my cellphone and could not find such email. After returning to my office I find an email requesting submission of my DL and SS card. Mind you, I had previously submitted those documents in order to open the personal checking and savings accounts. Here we are September 6th, no email response and no calls. Crickets. Over 30 days and I still can't open a business checking account. Wow.
The worst customer service EVER.
The irony, my business exists to help businesses improve their brand reputation (reviews), to improve their website or obtain one, to increase their website's traffic, increase their leads, all to get more customers and to ultimately increase their sales.
I will be closing my personal checking and savings accounts at RBFCU.

Walked in, there were at least 3 tellers, 1 was waiting on a customer, another one looked busy waiting on no one, i don't know what the 3rd one was doing. Waited at least 5 minutes then walked out. And no one was at the front desk by the door.

Today April and Jessica at the Buda branch helped me with several banking issues. So happy with their service.
My grandson went to the same branch a couple of days ago and was helped by Nicholas and Alex. Both gentlemen were very nice and professional.

It's so crazy the bank now charges 5% for the coins but it use to b free for members. Whats the point of being a member if we get charges.

I hate this bank. robots for customer service, nobody knows anything when you finally reach a human on the phone and then they transfer you or hang up. The mastercard credit card is virtually useless because it shows up as a debit card for some reason and requires a pin. The website has the worst user interface that I have ever encountered. It takes a monumental effort and several phone calls to simply make a payment on the credit card while using a different bank. It literally will not let you make a payment unless it comes from an rbfcu checking account. Redeeming cash back rewards is like trying to solve a puzzle, mutliple phone calls, multiple websites, still haven't got it done yet. It's like they try to be the worst bank. I'll be cancelling all my accounts at rbfcu and moving to another bank that cares about it's customers
