BEWARE: I dropped off my Ford 302 bare block with Mark G’s Auto Machine in February. I left a money deposit and it was agreed he would do all machine work in house and assemble the engine to a 331 stroker with all brand new parts I provided. I visited the shop every 2 weeks and zero progress was made. “Next week I’ll start it” was often said to me. Six months later I asked for my parts and engine alongside my deposit refund. Not surprised he did NOT have my deposit money and did NOT have my engine at his shop. Luckily, my parts were at his shop and I recovered them immediately. I was told My engine was at a remote machine shop in San Antonio and he would get it back to his shop asap which he never did. I had to drive myself down to the shop I never visited nor had any agreement with to recover my engine. I received partial refund of my deposit in 3 payments, but when he asked for initial deposit I gave the full amount he requested. This was one of the worst service experiences for me. This hobby is special to me and it is sad to realize many people cannot keep their word on paid services.I was charged for full cleaning of the engine and align hone (which was done at remote machine shop). This is how my engine looked when I picked it up. Had not been cleaned at all.I am not writing this to bash anyone, but simply to save someone a possible headache. I am back to square one with this engine build, six months lost and money down the drain.

This shop should be shut down. He takes deposits, doesn’t do the work and then refuses to pay back the deposit. This is after 6 months after having the engine block. Shop elsewhere.

Mark is an Awesome machinist and does Very high quality work. He’s not the fastest in the world, but I don’t really want someone rushing while building me 750+ HP engines!

Job he said would take 3 weeks took 3 months. Lied about getting work done, outsourced my engine. Not a good place to go AT ALL. Engine brought to him assembled, came back in pieces. My thousand dollar aftermarket parts were thrown in with the old stuff.

Three week job took five weeks and he didn't even complete what we talked about. When I went to pick up and pay for my engine Mark was not there. The employee that I was trying to pay became hostile to the point I had to call the police just to be able to give them the payment and take possession of my engine.
