This was our 2nd time staying at the Star of Texas Bead and Breakfast. Our first time was when my hubby and I eloped 10 years ago. We came back 10 years later to celebrate our anniversary and renew our vows. Don and Deb are awesome and some of the nicest folks! They don’t miss a detail. Everything from the amazing breakfast to the vow renewal ceremony, everything was perfect. We love the artsy vibe of their property. We stayed at Oak Cottage which seemed secluded but close enough where you felt secure. The hot tub was amazing. The tour guide cat named Spice was cool. Loved the little mini gift shop. Deb had some great local recommendations that were spot-on. Thanks to Don and Deb for making our anniversary weekend extra special.

Don and Debbie are really great and genuine people! The accommodations were great and as advertised. Their personal touch and service made our special day even better!! They made everything simple and easy for us. Definitely would recommend trying this place for your wedding day or vow renewal,or just a special weekend getaway to unplug. Brownwood is really nice smallish town and everyone there is very nice as well.

My husband and I booked a two night stay for our anniversary and we couldn't be more pleased! We booked the Oak Cottage and it was delightful. It's set off of the owner's residence but still feels very private. We used the hot tub each day and night and it was so relaxing. It felt like you were in the middle of the woods. I sat in the hot tub with a book and a glass of wine each night.
The breakfasts were amazing! The owners were kind and personable without hovering. The local area is cute with restaurants and a lovely bookshop called Intermission. You must check it out.

Breakfast was personally delivered each morning to our cottage. I preferred this over having to get dressed and hang out with other guests as we've experienced in other bed and breakfasts. The local area is cute with restaurants and a lovely bookshop called Intermission. You must check it out!

Beautiful hiking trail with lots of cute surprises along the way. Relaxing hot tub with a great view of the countryside and night sky full of stars. Don and Deb are top notch hosts, even helped unload our luggage. Breakfast was the chef’s kiss!!

I had a wonderful time. The hospitality is unmatched. Very enjoyable. The locusts at evening were therapeutic.
Deb and Don definitely enjoy sharing this with others. Breakfast was great also.

This whole weekend was amazing. It was better then we could have dreamed of. This was was the most relaxing, stress-free way to get married. Don, Deb and family were just the nicest and very gracious hosts.The Wildrose cottage was perfect for our elopement weekend. We especially loved the delicious food and wine, the massages, and the unique artwork throughout the property. This is a definite must-see, can't wait to return!

Our elopement was perfect from the moment we arrived until the moment we departed. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful, the owners are kind and accommodating, the ceremony and photos were wonderful. We now have fabulous memories of our weekend ceremony to cherish.

The owners are so incredibly nice. They manage the perfect balance between tending to their guests and giving their guests privacy.
The food was awesome. The cottage was beautiful. The grounds were fun to walk. The hot tub has one particular seat I called “The Magic Seat”. Ahhhhhh!
Looking forward to a return visit.
