One of the worst experiences with a rental company.I was supposed to pay 70$ in fees at the counter, and it was almost $200.Insurance was almost $500 for 5 days. They wouldn't take our digital wallet for the capital 1 card that covers much of that (200$ for CDW coverage).On our 4th day, we got a flat tire. I paid for PREMIUM roadside assistance in that $500. I called them, and my options were... change the spare ourselves, and then take it to the nearest dollar rental for an exchange, or wait for a repair shop. Or, have then change the spare...and then take it to a dollar rental to exchange, or go get the tire changed.The nearest open dollar rental was over an hour away, and there was a several hour wait for a tire repair. They would not send someone to swap vehicles, as we have had with other, more reputable companies we've used. So, our options were spend half our day swapping out vehicles in another city, or half our day getting the tire fixed. Turns out the department that approves tire replacement is open on weekends. Premium roadside assistance:) Not sure why I spent 20 minutes on hold for the rep to confirm tire size and that the shop had it in stock before sending us there...if a repair was only authorized.We finally got to start our day at 4pm. We got to the beach and the car died. We had someone next to us jump it.Today, we woke up and the car was dead ...again. 90+ minutes for a jump. We needed to leave for Corpus at 7 am to do both the activities we wanted. Now we have to wait for a jump and exchange the car at the local agency (not open yesterday) at 10a. Which means we won't get to Corpus until 1p. Which activity do you not do?After waiting almost 3 hours for someone to jump us, and confirm battery is shot, we took the car to the brownsville airport to swap rentals, per csr instruction. They closed during the pandemic. Not sure who they put me on hold to call there and confirm a car would be ready at 10 am when they opened. But, ok. They tried to send us to Harligen when we called back. We googled and there is a Hertz in Brownsville. Can we go here? There's a Hertz in Brownsville? Yes...I'm not sure why HERTZ wouldn't know that. Or that another location closed several years ago. Finally got a new car at 130pm. The guy at Hertz store was the most helpful of all.So, 2 of our 5 day rental with them is shot. Hertz customer service is unmoved by this. Paid 190 for rental, 200 taxes and fees, and 500 in insurance. And, then got 2 days of a vacation screwed.Do not rent from them. It's a crapshow there.Worst experience. They are owned by Hertz. Absolutely will never use them again.

I showed up and was told there were no cars available. There was no warning and nobody answered when I attempted to call and confirm.

This company just stole $900 from us because of a fraudulent charge which instead of giving it back, they took it out twice, this place just drained our account and left us stranded 28 hours from our home, on our honeymoon. Instead of helping us and fixing their mistake they took advantage of us, we got hung up on 3 times by supervisors, this is the worst company I've ever dealt with, should have went with enterprise rent a car because I've always been treated good there. I will never rent from them again and suggest if you want to hold onto your money you should NEVER EVER rent from them. I will be contacting the BBB

We had a reservation in this place and they didn't have a car ready for us . The service was horrible and we felt discrimination from Mr Rafael . No customer service at all from him and very arrogant . We never had such a bad experience with anybody else in this matter . Never ever recommend this place . Don't fall for the cheap prices because it can cost you more than is worth . Waste and time , money and energy .

Yesterday, my flight arrival into Brownsville from Dallas was delayed almost 3 hours from 9:30 PM until well after midnight. If you've ever been to Brownsville airport, then you know it's not the kind of place where yo want to be stranded overnight. When I arrived in Brownsville, the gentleman from Dollar was waiting for me at the desk with the keys for my car. I personally witnessed the distress of another passenger from the same flight who had a reservation with another car rental company that was already closed for the night. She had to wait until 9 AM the next morning for her car. I will rent from Dollar in Brownsville again.

Be aware that if you drive 1/10th of a mile on a toll road in TX, Dollar will bill you a $15 "admin fee". Just cost me $160!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! End of my "relationship" with this worthless criminal enterprise that is all about how many Dollars they can take from the customer.
