We went there recently to find a cat and it was a wonderful experience. We were allowed time to let a cat choose us. Tulip was well taken care of and very happy and loving. She is a wonderful addition to our family. Thank you, BAC, for helping us find our new fur baby.

I was told I would receive a call back before taking the route of euthanizing my dog. I had to relocate to Boerne unexpectedly and needed 2 weeks to have the money to pay for him to be allowed to live with me and could not risk fees or eviction. He was euthanized and I was told calling back owners wasn't what they usually do (but I was reassured I would be called), I should have called them first, and thank you for my feedback to help make their establishment/customer service better. These responses were incredibly insensitive but I guess after euthanizing so many animals they are desensitized to the loss people can feel for their animals. I was in tears having to leave him and wanted him to have a chance to be with a family that was not struggling and was told euthanizing is their last option. To me this establishment failed in various ways and took the route of taking a life irresponsibly. Nothing can be done or said to make this situation better but I want to bring by awareness to this for the people who care for the animals they are rescuing or rehoming to take elsewhere or care for them instead of sending them here to die.

We had a great experience at this location. Staff was friendly, helpful and flexible. I highly recommend this facility to surrender or adopt dogs.

Just had the best experience adopting a beautiful baby brown Tabby. Shelby at the shelter was a joy to work with! She knew this little feline personality perfectly. She is absolutely sweet. Thank you for taking great care of these beautiful creatures (beings). They all need to find a permanent home with Love abound.

What wonderful people! They obviously love what they do, and the dogs know it, and reciprocate. My story- we adopted a sweet but very skittish 4 yo with a tough life history. Fast as lightning, and slippery as mercury. Less than 24 hours later, due entirely to my incompetence, I lost grip on her leash, and when I lunged to retrieve it, I frightened her and she ran off into the underbrush(rural setting). After hours of fruitless searching, I notified the center, thinking the chip would lead a vet to them. I felt so guilty, but they were so sweet and understanding about it. Incredibly, Miss Shelbi drove 50 miles to our place, and promptly found River. Unbelievable devotion to her profession. Many many thanks!

I salute a department with a tough job. They work hard interacting with the public and their wayward pets not to mention our local wildlife. Thank you for doing it with a smile!

My dog got out and with in 30 minutes she was at the pound. Paid for her to get out but very stressful. Employees were very sweet and understanding but still had to pay to get her out.
