We are a family of 7 and were really struggling with the price of groceries. For the past 4 months I have driven from Petersburg once a month and our pantry now lasts well over a month for a fraction of the cost! We also haul back a good portion for our local food pantry. Everyone that works here is so nice!

I have going to this store for over 20 years. I used to find really great deals and could fill a whole suv with groceries for under $100. I have no problem with expired or close to expiring items. Here lately I find that most items, if not on "sale" are ridiculously priced, to be expired or close to expiring. If I want to pay full price for items I will go to retail stores and get fresh items. I have been so disappointed with the last few trips to this store. Something needs to change, because I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way.

Robert B., it is true that Bargain Mart isn't what it was when Buck owned it. You should realize that it was his choice to sell (in 2019). The new owners have done an outstanding job finding deals on groceries at "Bargain" prices, given since COVID they have been hard to find, not to mention the 6% -10% increase in prices they have had to pay for their stock. In short it would be my opinion, if you don't want to continue to save money on the grocery items that you buy, stop going there and bad mouthing their store. For those of us that like the idea for saving money, we'll continue to shop at Bargain Mart, it's a great place and is not going out of business.

Bargain Mart grocery store in Big Spring, Texas is a hidden gem for those who love a good bargain and enjoy treasure hunting. This store offers everything from produce to canned goods, restaurant supplies to cleaning supplies, all at discounted prices. It has a unique 'Banana Box' type of store vibe, where you never know what treasures you may find. The store carries items from around the United States, some of which are current while others may be expired. If you come across something you like, it's best to buy it then and there, as there's no guarantee that they'll have it again. We don't live in town, however my husband and I are willing to make the drive. It's always a fun adventure and treasure hunt for us, and we usually end up spending around $100 each time. While the store may not be fancy, it's organized and quite adequate. The inside temperature is comfortable, and the staff is incredibly friendly, making the shopping experience a pleasure. Bargain Mart is open every day until 6 pm, except for Sundays. Bargain Mart is a good place to shop for those who love a great value and enjoy exploring unique stores. The prices are discounted, the staff is friendly, and the selection is always changing, making each visit an adventure.

I was just in the store with my husband and the young blonde girl that was checking was so rude and hateful. I don't know why she was so mad but she was slamming the items around and had a mad face . I think the store needs to hire better cashiers with customer skills. With the store not really having much going for them that kinda treatment will make people not come back.
