Place was nice and all, but the “fresh” towels had what looked like pubic hair scattered amongst the fibers.

Second time we stayed here. It in my opinion the best place in town to stay. It is clean and friendly. We found it quiet. It is easy to get to. The breakfast was about what most hotels offer now.

Clean rooms, well kept hotel. Staff is super friendly. It's quiet, I don't hear the people in the rooms around me. Perhaps they're sleeping like I am. Lots of pillows. Was visiting family in town and this sure beat the sofa bed. I've stayed her multiple times. A little on the pricey side, but the entire town is like that. Strangely, since it's the middle of nowhere. But the overall experience is something I would love in all my hotel stays.

My number one choice hotel when travel, never have any problem with best Western In Big lake. Overall excellent comfortable. This is one of our favorite hotels. We have stayed here multiple times and it has always been a great experience. The location is great, lots to do. I highly recommend this hotel

There's the original comment and a response below. Just saying in case you want to read it all.Don't stay here. The staff is rude and inconsiderate. I don't have time to go into detail, but believe me, you're better off staying somewhere else.Putting this out there in response to the response posted by the hotel management:At check-in I was told I was being put in the ground floor room because the maintenance was being done on the third floor and the room being on the first floor should allow me to get some sleep (the employee doing the check-in actually was considerate and understood I would only be there a few hours to sleep while I waited for my drive time clock to reset. I do appreciate her efforts and understand she may not have realized the maintenance would get to the first floor so quickly, but that begs the question of why would you even be trying to do routine/non-emergency maintenance on rooms that are OCCUPIED?!! Especially rooms with the Do Not Disturb sign hanging on the door!! If you actually cared about your guests and wanted them to have a good stay you should have had the presence of mind to schedule the maintenance to be done in between guest check-ins. That way you're not intruding on guests who have paid for a room and are expecting privacy and to not be disturbed - again, especially when they're using the Do Not Disturb hanger you provide! If you really cared or had thought about doing maintenance between check-ins on unoccupied rooms it would have ensured your guests would not be disturbed by some guy banging on every single door announcing he's maintenance loud enough for the whole hallway to hear. Instead of being loud and disruptive he would have had unrestricted access to each room; no need to knock/be loud or invade guests' privacy. The fact he, or someone, knocked on my door and the doors around mine every few minutes for over two hours seems excessive, too. Bottom line is your lack of forethought or consideration for your guests resulted in an extremely poor experience for myself and who knows how many other guests who have not spoken up. It also resulted in me getting only an hour and a half sleep before I had to drive 10hrs in an 18-wheeler while making multiple stops to deliver several thousand pounds of groceries by hand. And I know a lot of your guests are truck drivers who need their rest for the safety and well being of everyone on the road!! How would you have felt if I had ended up in the news because I was driving fatigued after my stay, fell asleep and plowed over a car with a family in it? That may sound dramatic but this is no joke. Anyone who drives a truck and is there to rest needs to be able to get that much needed rest. I could go on more. I haven't even touched on the rudeness of the employee who came to my door; nonetheless, this whole situation could have been avoided had there been some thinking and planning like a hotel that truly values their guests' experiences would have done. I hope an effort to do better is made in the future.

I absolutely love staying at this hotel. I stay at Best Western hotels all over Texas and Louisiana. The people working the front are always friendly, and the rooms are always great.

Nice Hotel, but the rates are way to high for such a small town with hardly anything to do.
