I have a 2014 RAM 2500 Diesel 4WD truck that has had a problem with engaging in reverse especially in hot weather. First taken to a dealership in September 2019 for this problem and I've been to no less than 4 different dealerships since the problem first occurred. More recently, it was taken to Patterson's where they had it for an entire month but were suggesting I replace the transmission. It's been at RAM dealerships 5X for this problem, at a cost of $800+ in just diagnostic fees. One dealership in Arizona replaced the valve body assembly at a cost of $1,200+ but this didn't fix the problem. Twice I was told I needed a new transmission but I had timed out on my extended warranty even though I have only 96K on this truck right now. Thankfully, I was referred to John's Transmission and when I first met with John he spent about 15 minutes with me discussing the repair possibilities. After waiting only two weeks to bring him the truck, John had this problem fixed within a week at a modest cost of only $1,200. John did wind up having to pull the transmission and replace a rear drum and piston, which was one of the possibilities he had mentioned when I first met with him. I can't thank John enough because not only did he fix the problem but he saved me thousands of dollars compared to what others wanted to do. I'm so thankful for John and I would highly recommend him to anyone with a transmission problem.

Positive experience. They made spending a week's wages on auto repairs as simple as buying a stick of gum. Johnny's came recommend from another reputable transmission shop in Tyler. My transmission repair was made for a competitive price with a quick turn-around. I would recommend this auto shop.
