I currently am seeing Dr. Khela, and I have nothing but great things to say. I was hesitant about finding a doctor that just wasn't trying to prescribe me everything, or just bill me for whatever. I do appreciate how she hears my concerns and we walk through them. Very pleased with my experience so far.

Refused to let me exercise my parental rights and see my daughter during her appointment. I don’t know if the doctor is at fault or not, but the staff implied it was her decision. Horrible experience and it’s no wonder this facility has so many 1-star reviews.
Edit: It happened for the second time.

I'm so frustrated with this group!! Our entire family has been going here for many years. All the good Dr's either retired or left this group. I was about to leave and found a new doctor(name undisclosed) who restored my confidence at the time. I travel for a living and had a few issues that I needed to take on, one by one. The Dr. had blood panels worked up the first time without asking for a uric acid test to be done. Having had a history of gout and knowing my symptoms, I ask for the second panels to include a uric acid test. That test confirmed I had gout going on. I was prescribed Allopurinol, as in the past, only this time for just one month, which was prior to yet another panel scheduled for comparison. Ok, fine, let's check levels again. However, 30 days on Allopurinol is barely enough time to get it working in my system. Yet, I was the one who had to ask for uric acid to be added on the second run of panels! I went out of town on business and had a gout flair-up. I called in and asked for an anti-inflammatory, which was always prescribed to have on hand with Allopurinol in case of a flair-up (not this time). I asked for it to be sent to a local pharmacy where I was located in much pain. I was denied and had to go to ER out of state ($$$$) I get back in town, try to schedule an appointment, and she had no openings, so I didn't get the 3d set of panels done. Then, I have to go back out of town, and my Allopurinol runs out. I ask for a refill, and I'm denied without more blood work and another appointment. I beg for a 30-day extension, so my system isn't depleted and still denied. 30-day extension denied after one 30-day prescription??? As a result, another gout flair-up. The Dr. says it's for my safety that they need a comparison? How does that work for accuracy when I ran out of the medication? Rather than extend a medication I've been on for years in the past, for another month until I get back, they allowed me to litterally relapse!! Gout is PAINFUL, and it was very debilitating, this time in the knee. Their answer is always, go to ER. This was totally unexeptable and spoke volumes as to what is more important, I can tell you from experience that it's not the patient. I understand protocol and safety. This was either being rediculously over-cautious or literally about getting a quota of visits. Either way, I was not the priority, nor did they truly care about my situation. Unfortunately, it's time to move on and find a doctor who understands me and will work with my situation. Here, you are just another number.

My wife and I are patients of Dr. khela, she has done a great job for us and the staff is fast at getting us in. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a good personal doctor.

The insurance representative, Marta, that spoke with me today gaslit me with the phrase "remember how this works" after I had clearly explained that I didn't know the complex details of insurance. I can't remember something that I never knew Marta. She also didn't answer the only question that she was summoned to answer. Then she told me that they are taking me to collections over $11.80. Unbelievable Marta, do better Mid Cities Family Care

Caution never come to this office. Someone needs to review them for fraud. I came in for my very first visit and had a physical. Everyone seems so nice at first and they politely gives you a form to fill out that says if you do discuss anything while you do your physical they will charge you. I thought ok no problem I should be good. Well surprise surprise I didn't realize that the Dr. Nweke would order additional labs with out discussing it with me. I was then billed for the labs and coinsurance after I left the office.... at full pop bc my insurance only covers that test if I came in with a concern about it. I contacted the office many times and even went in to try to resolve theses issues but it was a big waste of my time. They will all apologize and tell you they will resubmit the paperwork a different way and fallow up with you. Then most of the staff will never fallow back up with you. I did finally talk to the billing specialist who did fallow up with me but unfortunately was told there was nothing that could be done. I also need to mention that I had issues with my prescriptions and in my portal under visits a random visit popped up that said I spoke with the doctor about my refill as a result of my lab. This never happened. The communication is terrible and I have no trust with the doctor or office. When it comes to your health trust and communication are essential. Do yourself a favor and find a different office. I will never be back and I will never go to an office associated with Texas Health ever again.

Be prepared for surprise billing and double billing. Make sure to have an up to date relationship with your physician because there seems to be bit of a turnover rate within the office.

Rude providers. Do not listen. Appointments difficult and not accommodating. Don't waste your time.

Dr. Khela was very knowledgeable and attentive. My mom is a new patient and thoroughly enjoyed her experience! She felt valued and respected. Both the doctor and nurse took time to listen and offer their recommendations for future care. I highly recommend this care team and this office!

I like that I haven’t had to wait so long to see the doctor. I started going here a year ago. I haven’t seen the doctor but, I have seen his NP and another nurse, both good. I was glad I found them on time, to get with them when I got COVID as it turned into pneumonia, and was able to video talk to the nurse, I followed the instructions, and she helped me get better.
