I had a deeply disappointing experience at Travis Brother Hardware Store. As an African American, the energy there was unwelcoming. When my brother and I went in for screws and paint, we were met with suspicious stares, as if we were potential thieves rather than regular customers. Despite this discomfort, we bought what we needed and left. However, when we got home and opened the spray bottle, it was defective with no tip to dispense the paint. Reluctantly, my brother went back to exchange it. The lady at the front scrutinized the bottle as if we had tampered with it, then called the manager. The implication was clear: they were insinuating we had messed with it. The manager, without saying it outright, hinted they might check the cameras to see if we were lying. So that’s what he did he checked the camera to grant us an even exchange Eventually, after a long wait, my brother returned empty-handed, no exchange granted. This whole ordeal left a bitter taste, especially on a day when my brother that’s not blood lost his actual father today literally today and a person that I consider a bonus father died today so for the strong suspicion cast on us at Travis Brother Hardware Store was not only disappointing but downright disrespectful.

I'm not going to be too quick to use the race card, just because I don't know if they do/treat everybody like this or not! So after me asking the workers where is the two items that I needed I got them. I will say the way they help me out I will give dim 5 stars, but afterwards I want to walk around the store see what they had in there. I noticed there was a little pricey but still with an all for being a neighborhood store the prices wasn't too bad.. but as I'm looking at stuff for a few other projects I got going on, I noticed every move I make I go on they are watching me.. I already deal with PSD from being shot so I'm very uncomfortable with somebody staring at me, i understand if there was asking me do I have any questions about the items I'm looking (I had tons) so I thought to myself I'm go to the other side of the store just to see if I'm tripping!!! No I was not!!! I was being watched to make sure I wasn't stealing anything!! So I got kind of pissed off and ask the worker, do I need sit the items I got on the front desk? Thinking that would maybe stop watching me! His response was that will be nice but I'm trying to make sure you don't need help with anything@ Like I said before I had tons of questions about a lot of items( I used to be a sales representative) if I was them every two items I see you picking up and looking at I've been saying some helpful information about the item you know making a sale! But that was not the case I'm not to talk about one worker it was four different one none of them ask or said anything! so with that being said it's about said 9/10 ik that I was being profiled but a hundred percent sure they thought I was about to steal some stuff ? left my items right on the front desk because that was really ridiculous now I'm at Ace making this review with over $400 of tools and stuff probably don't even need but customer service was awesome

I have had the pleasure and honor of doing business with this family-owned company since 1987. My grandfather built the very first house on Lela street with his own bare hands, it was companies such as Jack's hardware Travis Brothers, M&D Supply, SUTHERLANDS and McCoys that made it possible for Beaumont Texas to expand and grow into what it is today. There are few family-owned businesses still left who believe that customer service above all is the most important aspect of their business. Never once have I gone into Travis Brothers hardware & Supply and had to wait more than 5 seconds before being asked what can they do for me. It is such a pleasure to still be able to go into a company who is family-owned and takes every need of mine as if it was their own. I have never had to return an item, because they always provide me with exactly what I need.

I visited Travis Brothers because I needed supplies for a job I had in the area( I am a maint tech for a property mgmt co.) It was an awesome place, (reminded me of the old " Mom and Pop stores). I had outstanding service. The staff was super attentive. .
