I had shopped at this store for years and was pleased. However around the first of the year, I noticed that the store had degraded significantly. I asked if they had changed management or owner and the reply was “Yes”.
This place is a mess. Shelves are empty or cluttered, while carts of unstocked merchandise are all up and down the aisles. In addition their products are limited. I was looking for milk in the refrigerator section and was told that they don’t carry milk???
I now avoid this store at all cost. I suggest the new Dollar Store toward Beach City. That store is much neater with a better selection of products. Not only do they carry milk, eggs, etc…..they also carry Blue Bell ice cream! If you don’t live near the Beach City Dollar Store, then I would suggest that you try the one in Old River.

While the cashier was friendly enough and offered to assist, it was hard to find anything. Stock that needed to be put on the shelves was setting in aisles, most shelves very disorganized, products left sitting around where they don't belong having not been reshelved in the proper place, shelves marked for clearance but clearly had items that were not on clearance on it, etc. Either they're very short-handed or some people just have no pride in their job.

I've been to this store multiple times and have yet to have a pleasant experience. Employees are rude and unhelpful. Carts block at least a third of the aisles and merchandise. Items are rarely restocked. Not worth stopping for any reason.

I went to this store looking for a few Christmas wrapping items. The store was completely messy, completely disorganized with little stock on any of the shelves. A lady who was on the same aisle as I was said, “This is such a messy store.” I wish I could say it w the first time I have found it like that. Two weeks earlier, I went in and the employees behind the counter were loudly discussing an employee who was being let go because of scheduling conflicts. Completely unprofessional. I drove less than 5 miles to the Old River location and found it to be stocked, clean and a pleasant atmosphere. I’ll start using other Dollar Generals and not use this one any longer.

I don't understand why the lady with glasses standing at the cash register is behaving rudely towards me. I say "have a good day and hello" many times, but I guess people make a distinction and act rudely towards those they don't like and this is not the first time she did this today, she does the same thing every time.

While I personally hate "dollar stores" due to their misleading name and front of being a discount store, this location has been clutch many times for random things. I have gone here late in the evening to pick up children's chewable Motrin and Tylenol when my kids were sick as well as shampoo and conditioner when we ran out. With this location being open until 10pm, it has been an object of convenience many times. I am willing to pay up to 25% more for items if it means a quick trip here vs. a much longer drive to HEB or Walmart. The staff here are generally polite and helpful. The selection of necessities is very good, but sometimes it is fun to wander around looking for things I didn't know I "needed". Don't expect a bargain, basically ever, however their sales are very good if you time things right and look for coupons (which I don't). I would definitely miss this store if it were to close like the other one that was close by.

I don’t normally leave reviews but I can’t help it this time we had a package sent here for fed ex ground because we weren’t gonna be home we called fed ex and they confirmed the package was delivered and signed for! Dollar general continues to say the package is not there even though we have confirmation it’s their whoever the manager is is a liar and a thief! That manager needs to be fired!!

The store is always filled with roll tanners in every aisle it's jam packed. How can any over safety approve this mess! Crazy thing is dollar general just keeps sending stuff and making it worse in the store to shop for customers

This store is over crowded with merchandise. The aisles are always cluttered so you can not go down them. The credit card machines are constantly having to be rebooted or cards slide or inserted a dozen times. The staff is polite and friendly, but it is just too much to find what you are looking for and takes too long to check out

This store was a total mess ! The girl working was there alone she had no help, poor girl. I guess DG expects her to do everything the stocking carts are blocking the isles. I could not get down the isle to look for what I needed

Sucks because I just did a review about how much I loved this store but the customer service and overall moral has crashed ever since they moved Crystal. The manager named Kori specifically is dismissive and carries this obvious attitude towards her employees and the customers. I didn't even know she was the manager until today and that just explained so much. I don't think I'll be back to this store.

I have been shopping here since they opened. I went in yesterday and the cashier was Kori. I have never seen anyone so young be so rude and inconsiderate. I can walk in say hello, no answer, then u go check out, I always ask how are u today to all of them Jennifer and Ms. Cathi are the bomb. But KORI needs some training in Customer Service, and by the way I was in CS for 25 years. So disappointed!!!!

So friendly. So convenient and always has what I need. The 2 girls working there are so helpful, Summer? And the other one her name starts with a K I believe. They always greet me with a smile. Also this location has a FedEx drop off. So glad to find this location.
