This place is a scam!! I am new to the area and went on Friday to get established with the doctor so I can get my adhd medication (that I’ve been on since 2016) refilled and the doctor wasn’t there so I met with the nurse who told me that she had no problem getting my meds refilled just to get a call today telling me that the doctor wasn’t comfortable giving me my normal dose of 30mg 2x a day (that I’ve been on for 5+ years) but he’ll do 20mg 2x a day… when I asked why the front desk lady said it’s bc he “doesn’t feel comfortable prescribing you that dose” but if I go to HIS psychiatrist, not the one I’ve seen on a regular basis for 4 years and would happily give his recommendation to continue my medication, he would feel comfortable prescribing my medication at the dose I need… they even sent in the prescription before calling to tell me this… and when I was telling the lady that didn’t make sense to me and asked for her to cancel the prescription she told no that it doesn’t matter as long as I don’t pick up and when I said that makes me uncomfortable she started yelling at me and hung up on me… it’s all sketchy like as a doctor why would you prescribe me the medicine at all if you aren’t comfortable with it at a slightly lower dose and why are you mad when I want to cancel the prescription all together??? Already got my insurance investigating them

Had an appointment, was told to wait in the car and call when I arrived. I called 3 times no answer. So I walked in to this EMPTY clinic and waited about 3 or 4 minutes for the receptionist to come to the desk. She immediately told me I was to wait in my car. I told her I tried calling and no one would answer and she said she had been there answering calls and insisted again that I go back to my car. I tried to hand her my insurance card to save her a trip outside and she would not even entertain the idea and pointed her finger at me and told me to go to my car. All she had to do was take my insurance but instead made me feel like they didn't want me there to begin with since I was a little sick. When I called back to talk to the manager they said I was refusing to follow directions and refused to give them my insurance card and told me to find another Dr. So that's the professionalism of this clinic.

Apparently they have enough patients they feel they can be nasty and rude to anyone they want because "we owe them attitude". Bastrop Medical Clinic "BMC" gets a F for their customer service. I'll never go back there again and will strongly suggest to my family and friends to find a better place to pay our hard earned money. Dr Batlle is a good doctor but his staff is killing his practice, not worth it. I called and spoke with the front desk to setup and appt. the lady said she couldn't find my records again. I explained I've been in there a few times in the past but couldn't remember the dates. She handed me off to another girl who the first girls said was Rose, but when I asked her for her name she said Lacett. She told me they aren't accepting new patients. I said I wasn't new. I needed an appt. She said because I'm not in the system I'm new. She told me to find someone else and to not call back. I explained I have been in there and had to Drs personal cell number he gave me. She said I don't care who's number you have and if you try to call him I will call him first and tell him not to answer your call. I said what did you just say? She said it again, then hung up on me.

Today, 11/13/23, was my first time ever visiting this clinic and everyone was very nice. I came in for a drug screening and even though my employer took forever sending me my paperwork, the lady behind the desk ( I think her name may have been Rosa) was very patient with me and allowed me to do the screening even though it was a little late.

I’ve seen this doc for a couple of years now and I have many positive things to say about the practice and the doc.- I think the staff are great and they’ve never let me down with simple requests such as request for refills. They never hesitate to get me in to see the doc within days, if not tomorrow!! TRY getting an appt in Austin on the same week of your call!!! I also really appreciate that this practice has actual professionals/adults working there, rather than a bunch of 20-something’s sitting around chatting and ignoring clients trying to check in. There is nothing more irritating than what I’ve had to deal with at a couple of the practices I’ve been to in Austin!!-both the doctor and the staff have been helpful to me in dire situations where I needed an immediate medication adjustment. I was seen the same day and my medication was adjusted, which helped me maintain a feeling of well-being, so I was able to return to work immediately. Try getting that type of help in Austin!I’ve simply had an easy time dealing with this practice.Dr. Batlle has been so helpful to me, and I appreciate that he has taken good care of all of us for the past couple of years!

Front staff is great and very personable. Non insurance prices always seem very fair. Dr B is great as well, always helpful with any random questions I may have.

I went in after injuring my wrist in a car accident. I told Dr Batlle that I really didn't think anything was wrong with my wrist other than maybe a sprain, but since it was the other person's fault, the insurance was encouraging me to get it checked out. It was VERY clear that Dr. Batlle thought I was just there to get drugs, even though I told him I didn't want any pain killers. He continued on his rant about how people come in with "these nothing injuries" and just want pills and straight up looked me in the eye and said very accusingly "I'm not going to give you any Vicodin." I was so stunned that I was just like "Okay? I don't want any I just want to make sure nothing is wrong with my wrist..." I explained to him that the dull pain had started to creep into my shoulder. He said that if he was a good doctor he would tell me to stretch my arm out and give me a list of stretches to do but he wasn't a good doctor so he wasn't going to do that. Literally his words! I definitely agree with him; he's a terrible doctor. After talking to me for a few more minutes he concluded that I had sprained my wrist and possibly my shoulder and that it would work itself out. At this point, HE HAD NOT EVEN TOUCHED ME ONCE OR EXAMINED ME. I looked at him and held out my wrist and asked "Are you going to even examine me?" It was very obvious that he thought I was a waste of time. He came over, touched a couple places on my wrist and then said we were done. So I basically paid $95 for him to touch my hand for about 3 seconds and be exposed to his arrogance. Thankfully the insurance is paying for the "exam" but I will not be returning to Dr Batlle or his team and I have been telling everyone I know the same. Bastrop businesses take care of other Bastrop businesses who take care of their customers. I sincerely hope that Dr Batlle either steps up his standards or moves his practice out of Bastrop, because we don't appreciate that kind of treatment here.

I've been seeing Dr.Battle for years now and I applaud everything about him as a Doctor. I don't usually wright reviews, however these reviews are harsh and inaccurate. Bastrop is a small town so not a whole lot of options and if your trying to decide, give BMC a chance. Great and knowledgeable Dr, and I highly recommend.
