If there were negative stars that I can put to review Zipcar, I would. First of all, my car that I paid for did not show up. I then had to purchase a new car that was at a separate location with a price of 200. 20 minutes into our trip, our tire split in half with no indication on the car. We then had to buy a 300 dollar new tire and they will not reimburse us even though we almost died from their extremely unsafe car. Then I found out they charged us 464 dollars for the car that was a piece of shit. They have horrible customer service and will not reimburse us anything. Do not use Zipcar even if your life depends on it.

Convenience does not always equal value; and zipcar has proved it is not worthy of being called either. The app is dated, service horrendous, and the overall experience can only be described as appalling. Today was my first experience and after booking the car and arriving to the location, the car was no where to be seen. Tried to cancel the reservation so I can book another one, but was told I will not receive a refund. Currently on the line waiting for someone to pick up, but it's already been 30 minutes and my reservation is now 25min late. If you're like me and have a tight schedule and need something dependable... Stay away from zipcar. I now need to call an Uber just to make my appointment. Completely absurd.

DO NOT DO ZIPCAR. I did a free trial and have called 4 times to cancel my membership and have been on hold for over two hours, no exaggeration. The only way to cancel is on the phone and the hold is is ABSURD. If I could give it zero stars I would.

I don't know what this is, but my bank account was about cleaned out and all of it was going to this "service". When I called to dispute the transactions at the only number listed, I was told I had the wrong number and was hung up on. This seems like a fraudulent business and I'll be digging for more info on this and how to report Zipcar.

Wasted $150. First of all, we had to pay extra for more miles which was an inconvenience but also the zipcar gas card in the car wasn't even working so we called the call center and they were so unfriendly and hung up on us. They said to compensate they will give us $10 ZIPCAR CREDIT like thats gonna do anything when their vehicles are all around $100 and we just paid for our gas with our money. Ridiculous. Also the car smelled extremely fishy and was in terrible condition we had to go to the closest store and buy air fresheners. Please save yourself your time and money and dont take ANY chances with their cars.

Quite possibly one of the worst run companies in the US. Run far away from them.

I had a wedding to attend so I reserved a car three months out. On the day of my card wouldn't unlock the car so I called costumer services and they told me that they had been aware that the car had had a dead battery for some time now. At no point in the three months did they try to contact me, fix the car, or change my reservation. So I was stuck in a dark parking lot alone at 5 am (as a 19 year old girl). They told me the best they could do was give me a refund because nobody had requested that anybody come to fix it. Thanks to their rude behavior and carelessness I missed an extremely important family wedding. They are incredably unreliable and I would not recommend th if you actually plan on using it.

They make it impossible to cancel your account - you can't do it online, you have to call and wait and wait and wait and wait. Awful

Terrible customer service. Upon using my car I was told that I would get 185 miles free well I guess that wasn't the case because I was charged for 89 miles at 46.06 plus taxes. So when I called to inform them of their error I was told I would be granted a refund. Later that day I received a email that stated "As a courtesy, we have refunded the miles charged on your pay per mile, an amount of ($40.05) plus tax. As a courtesy, we have refunded the miles charged on your pay per mile, an amount of ($40.05) plus tax. The total reimbursement to your card is $46.06. Please allow 3-5 business days for this refund to process on your credit card." So on the 5th day and the money hadn't been refunded I called to see what was going on. The gentle man I spoke to then said" oh it shows pending let me go ahead and submit this for you." Then he proceed to say" you should see the money buy the following Friday. So I get a email stating 3-5 business days you can refer me surveys via email and price drops but no one can tell me that me refund would be extended past the time you said I would have it. If nothing pisses me off lack of communication. So then I call today and speak to a "supervisor" who could do absolutely nothing. So you poorly train you employees, I get wrongly charged, you tell me you will give me back my money in 3- 5 days, then you system messes up, and I have to wait to get my money a whole extra week because your error. That really bothers me. I am typically good at giving positive reviews but I am in a position to where health wise I can't afford to wait another week for my money that shouldn't have been taken in the first place.

I made a reservation for 6 hours and cancelled it several hours before the pickup time. No other cars in the area were reserved that day, so its not like it was a busy time. I was still charged the entire amount as "cancellation fees". This shows that Zipcar is no different to the regular car rentals with respect to their 'fine print' tricks. Why then should I pay a membership fee?
I cancelled my account and so did my wife. Hope your 'cancellation fee' was worth it Zipcar.
