This clinic is it! Do not look further. I took my dog here for 8 years and never once had a bad experience or questioned the care she was getting. What has stood out to me even more, is what has happened since my dog's passing. Unfortunately we had to put her down elsewhere as it was very sudden, but we still received a handwritten card with sentiments from all the staff, AS WELL as a tree being planted in her honor from the clinic. We are blown away that they went above and beyond to honor our dog in that way. We are so appreciative of how compassionate they were to her during her life as well. Whenever we came to clinic and she was anxious and unpredictable, every member of the staff was understanding, never judgmental, and everything went smoothly. Again cannot recommend West Lynn Vet enough.

Our dogs have been going to West Lynn for decades. Our last dog had an autoimmune disease and Dr. Whitworth and her staff took amazing care of him over the years. I was really touched by the care and concern and follow-up calls we have received during his treatment there. Sadly, he passed away after almost 9 years and we received an outpouring of sympathy from West Lynn (phone call, a beautiful sympathy card, flowers and a donation in his name). I can't recommend this veterinary clinic more. The doctors are bright, hard-working and truly care about your pet.

We had a great new patient appointment! The front desk staff were very welcoming. Someone’s dog peed in the waiting area from nerves, and the staff came out and cleaned it up/gave a towel to the owner who was peed on and were very kind about it, as you’d hope for. Our vet tech, Mayra, was very friendly and conversational, and Dr. Whitworth was patient and took the time to answer all my questions about various vaccines, future preventative care, etc. she also administered the vaccines in front of me, which was nice. At my old vet, they’d take my dog to a back area for 15-25 mins for a little shot. This seems much less stressful on the animals.
I was a little nervous after reading some people’s reviews about the appointment confirmation set-up, but it’s really straightforward. When you pay the initial deposit, the invoice notes that you will still need to confirm your appointment in order to keep it & the fees for cancellation/missing last minute are explained clearly. Nothing unusual - same practice I’d expect at any spa or salon. 1 or 2 days before the appointment, I got an email very clearly asking me to confirm the appointment by clicking a link or to call if I needed to reschedule. The link took me to a page acknowledging my confirmation was successful. Again, same practice as most places I make appointments at.

I have been using West Lynn Vet for about 10 years. Dr. Whitworth and Ashbaugh are tremendous. Most recently, we needed a USDA certification to move our dog with us overseas. The certificate got stuck in Memphis 3 days before our departure. Dr. Ashbaugh, on her day off, went to the local USDA office, got a new certificate for us and delivered it to the office for us to pick up. I don't know what we would have done without Dr Ashbaugh!

Went to a few vet clinics in Austin since moving to this side of town. The staff were so helpful and happy to see the animals entering the door! Felt heard by the doctor and did not feel “over sold!” I plan to keep bringing my dog here! Thank you West Lynn!!

Dr. Ashbaugh saved my dog’s life. When I brought him in to see her and he was only exhibiting very minor symptoms, she did not discount my concerns or brush me off. She listens and is the kindest, most empathetic vet. She ran a couple tests, including one that was outside “routine,” and we discovered that my dog had chylothorax. She gave him some temporary relief and gave me referrals to amazing surgeons, whom she also contacted personally. She has also witnessed the behavioral journey of another one of my dogs and was amazing handling his extremely unfriendly self (prior to extensive training) , guiding the vet techs regarding him, and overall just helped me support his training journey while he learned to tolerate vets. I can’t express how thankful I am to her and her role in my dogs’ lives.

Terrible experience with them requiring very expensive annual exam just to refill heartworm meds. I won’t be going back here, they don’t seem to care much about the pets well being either.

My dog Comet has been going to West Lynn Vet since he was born over ten years ago. I have spent thousands of dollars at this clinic. On a rainy Friday with lots of traffic I was 13 minutes late for an appointment. The appointment was for a simple shot that takes 5 minutes. The receptionist was extremely rude to me and told me she would have to ask the doctor if Comet could still receive his shot. Mind you at this time there was no one in the waiting room. She then comes back and tells me yes the doctor has time to still give Comet a shot but I will have to pay $40 extra because I was 13 minutes late. Really are you serious? She said yes. I told them how upsetting that was given we have been loyal patients for over 10 years. They were willing to lose my dog as a patient for $40. I feel like this was a blessing in disguise for my dog. As he is getting older he will need kind loving care and likely more services in the future. This is not a place where you will receive this. They only care about money. Do your babies a favor and go somewhere else.

West Lynn was amazing to my cat in her final week of life. I was incredibly unhappy with my cat Remi's previous vet clinic and her treatment there, so I took a chance and moved her to west lynn and I'm so glad I did. It's really hard to find GOOD CAT VETS in Austin. The vets here know cats and it shows. Remi wasn't doing well, and Dr. Ashbaugh was thorough and comforting when she delivered the devastating news that Remi wasn't going to recover. I made the hard decision to put her down, and they made the heartbreaking process as easy as it could possibly be, considering the earth-shattering circumstance. Dr. Whitworth was so gentle and loving with Remi, and the staff was wonderful and patient with me. I chose to bury Remi, but they also offer cremation. About a week after I lost my best friend, I received two cards in the mail. One was from a forest in Oregon telling me that the West Lynn Vet Clinic donated 5 trees to be planted in Remi's honor, and the second was a handwritten card from everyone at the clinic, even Dr. Ashbaugh and Dr. Whitworth, expressing their condolences to me. I feel so lucky to know Remi was surrounded by people that deeply care for ALL animals. Thank you guys for giving her the best care, it means more to me than words can express, or any review for that matter. This clinic cares--and in my opinion, very few things matter more than that.

Fantastic clinic with outstanding staff and very knowledgeable vets. My cat Allie was treated here for years during her senior years - they were incredibly attentive and clearly had a deep compassion for animals. They were very straightforward yet understanding when it came to delivering difficult news, which was very appreciated, as any pet owner dealing with end-of-life decisions would tell you. I really appreciate the kind letter after my cat's passing, thank you to all the staff at West Lynn.

Long term loyal customer. Booked an appointment for my dog who had a hot spot that was only getting worse. Had to wait two days to be seen and when I showed up to the appointment they had canceled the appointment because I hadn't confirmed. They wouldn't help squeeze him in or offer any solutions. Switching to a new vet to say the least.

I’ve had a poor experience. I think they’re too focused on how much money they can make from each client. And for those reasons, I’m out.

My fur babies and I love West Lynn! They go above and beyond for my loved ones. Always being so sweet and patient with the animals. One of my babies was attacked by a dog and had to go to an emergency 24/7 vet and they called me multiple times to check on Luna/ myself. Can’t recommend them enough!

Got a new pup and have been bringing him here. It has been a great experience. Theo gets excited about going and loves the vet and staff. Everyone is so nice and helpful. Highly recommend.
