Creekshow is one of the many reasons I love loving in Austin. A free art show in a tiny treasure of a park downtown. Come support a beautiful park and wonderful art installations.

Along with all of the beauty this park offers in the day, the nightly Creek Show is what we enjoyed. The display of artists and talented musicians was a joy, and at night it has tons of illuminated art displays. This free exhibit is worth the visit.

The “Creek Show” is a beautiful display of illuminated art along the Waterloo Creek, beginning at 9th street and ending at down Austin. It is an amazing and spectacular light show worth seeing. Invited artists explore different themes related to Waterloo Greenway. Each work of art tells a different story. This 10 day event is FREE ! But you have to reserve your ticket online.

I'm walking on sunshine, wooahI'm walking on sunshine, woooahI'm walking on sunshine, woooahAnd don't it feel good! This is literally how I feel every time I visit Waterloo!! I love this outdoor space/event park in downtown Austin. We visited on 11/12 to attend Creekshow and we were not disappointed. This is our second year going and we loved every minute of it. Not to mention the show is free!! The exhibits were all amazing, the performer sounding great live and the views to the stage are beautiful. You can stand on the lawn or play games like Connect Four or you can also catch a seat on the many lawn chairs and picnic tables they have. They also have concessions that offer some food choices and drinks. This is definitely a family friendly place for everyone to enjoy. I will be on the look out for more events offered to attend!

a nice idea and a good event venue but way too much concrete to be considered a Greenway or a park.... Interesting design but think it would have been a lot more successful with half the concerte used

This has to be my favorite park in central Austin! The landscape design is exquisitely done, and it's very well kept. It's a great place for all sorts of activities--reading, strolling, sunbathing, sharing a meal with friends, or just simply enjoying the views. Both times I went it was surprisingly empty, but I believe they host events often at the Moody Amphitheater. There's also free parking (after a certain time on weekdays) in the Capitol Visitor's Parking Garage right by the park, which is quite convenient.

I went to the Creek Show and saw Austin's premier Selena cover band Bidi Bidi Banda, and the vibe I get from this area is pretty special. Obviously downtown has places like Zilker for outdoor green spaces, but this is close to the capitol, and the walkways feel more lush and well-designed. Whereas Zilker seems more suited for recreation and lounging, Waterloo Greenaway feels like a great place to just roam around. And of course having Moody Amphitheater here helps. The art installations around the Greenway were really cool. This is Instagram-worthy stuff for sure. The grounds seem really well-kept, and everyone at the show really had a good time. Being from Round Rock where the general vibe is less gender-inclusive, I appreciated the bathroom set up here. I know lots of businesses in downtown Austin have gender neutral bathrooms, but I feel like Waterloo does it in a unique way. They are literally just private stalls (with toilets that use reclaimed water, of course) with a shared open, outdoor sink. There's not even unisex/gender neutral signage. There's not even really a "room." It's just private stalls and a shared sink, laid out in a way that makes it plainly obvious that anyone can use any toilet, and while I'm sure the fact that I've devoted a paragraph to something like this will make some people's eyes roll, I just appreciate the hell out of the city for this good, inclusive design. There are plans to expand it south, all the way to the river. This would create a miles -long walkways lined with greenery that would add even more vibrance to our beautiful downtown. Apparently the greenway/creek also serves the purpose of protecting all of downtown from flooding, which is pretty freaking cool. I don't live near enough to visit often, but this place checks a lot of boxes for me, so I'll at least be down for the yearly Creek Show.

I attended the Greenway creek Show. First time to attend the show and the park itself. The drink options were plentiful, food not so much. Ample places to sit or be social able. Despite being a Tuesday evening it was packed. We were able to walk through the whole park and see the displays within an hour, we hung around and enjoyed the nice night. I'm not sure what I was expecting but I will say I was expecting more. More exhibits or lights. The previews made it seem like the park would be lit up with light/art exhibits and there was only 4 areas. I was happy it was free, I would've been disappointed had I paid for it and been that underwhelmed.
