This building has a nice smell of dead rats + air freshener!! Come take a tour and ask to see the Robert Browning street elevator. Dead rat smell and rat poop all around it. If you are ok with that then you will like living here.
This is only one of two elevators in the building. And the other elevator breaks down once a month.

I can’t agree more with all the one star reviews—from doors that do not latch, poor security, break ins, broken gym equipment, unkept grounds and worst of all…the rat infestation. I have made multiple complaints about loud animals in my walls (starting in July) and am still having issues, with no communication. The hallways are gross, unkept and hot. This place has gone downhill so fast. I would not live here!

Perfect location! Wonderful management and staff.

If you don’t mind false fire alarms going off every other day, including at 2:30am on a weeknight, this place is great. We have had four fire alarms go off in the last 10 days or so, the latest one being at 2:20am on a Monday night that lasted for two hours.
Edit (October 2024): There is a major rat infestation here. It started from the trash room by the garage entrance but has quickly spread to all areas of the apartment complex including inside some of the apartments on the top floors. The management has been aware of this issue for over six months now. Yet, little progress seems to have been made with absolutely no communication about the matter with the residents.

There are rodents in the walls... No amount of reports nor complaints will motivate management to have the property treated. Most of the gym equipment doesn't work. Security is very sub par. It's cheap that's about it!

Great Location, however, the management team needs a lot of work. Elevators are constantly down. Fire alarms are always going off. Doors to the building are always broken so that anyone can get in. There is a huge safety concern living here.
Theres has been a strong acetone smell in the hallways & units while work is being done on the roof. To which apartment management has completely failed to notify its residents about.

The recent reviews here on Google indeed tell the true tale of what has happened at this complex. A mediocre luxury apartment that had a great maintenance team has now fallen into a terrible state of nastiness and disrepair, thanks to a new maintenance team that redefines the word, "horrendous."
If you think I exaggerate, imagine catching two maintenance staff that you have never seen before entering your apartment without permission, with no prior notice, when the policy of the apartments is to provide all three of those things. What if my cat had escaped? Why did I have no chance to secure my personal belongings? And why did I never receive an email with a picture of these two men? That's far beyond crossing the line for an expensive apartment.
Even more frustrating is seeing the air conditioning issue I am having mentioned in these very reviews! I was told the manager did not know this issue existed until I brought it up with the regional manager of the property (the only way to get things done at this point). Yet, I see manager responses to these reviews complaining about the same AC issues! It is quite infuriating to be lied to. Much like these other reviews mention, the AC in the halls is set to 83 (I even attached a picture to this review for reference). This means we can't get our units down below 75 even when we run our ACs 24/7. This resulted in a wonderful $166 electric bill for me last month, for a 1 bedroom apartment. Even more fun is trying to get the mold under control, especially when we get emails reminding us that we will be charged for mold removal fees upon move-out.
I can't recall more eagerly awaiting the end of a lease, but sadly I'm stuck here until mid-July of next year. You may think it bold of me to speak these truths while still renting, but I must give credit to Rudy Villalobos, SYNC Regional Manager, for confirming that things were not done to company standards, and guaranteeing no retaliation against me. It took going to the Regional Manager level, but someone did finally take responsibility and do the right thing. Thanks Rudy.
I would be remiss in ending without also thanking Casey, the Assistant Manager, for all his hard work. He held this place together administratively when the maintenance team was good, and it is simply impossible for one man to hold a huge apartment complex together now, when no one else seems to know how to do their job. I have no doubt that he gives 110% every day though. I hope things get better around here for his sake.

I lived in the Sync at Mueller building for a few years and overall, it was a positive experience.
Pros:
- location - Mueller is an awesome neighborhood with a lot to do. Streamway coffee, which is walking distance, is also the best.
- Nice units.
- Pet friendly.
- Nice and quick maintenance staff.
Cons:
- My unit had almost zero cell service and my calls dropped constantly or I couldn’t even make them at all.
- I feel like the building can use more TLC (for instance, making sure doors open, plants trimmed around the pool, fire alarms, etc.)
- The biggest con for me was the lease renewal process. The prices of units change constantly and this past year my lease renewal offer was much higher in price than units available to new tenants, which isn’t right.

I moved to the community in 2020 and it really went downhill in 2023. I left in August and still have not received my security deposit yet despite Texas state law requiring security deposits be returned within 30 days of leaving. As of today it has been 35 days and was only told that the accounting department in Houston is supposed to send it.
I had packages stolen, my car broken into multiple times, and maintenance issues ignored (we had consistent water problems that took about 6 months to get fixed) and part of the building is sinking. Not to mention the stretch of time when the fire alarm kept going off in the middle of the night and traumatized my cats.
I loved Mueller but I don't recommend living here at all.

Poor Maintenance!!! The air conditioning in my apartment has been dysfunctional for the past 3 weeks with temperatures intermittently reaching 80 degrees. I have submitted numerous maintenance for this issue with some bandaid being slapped on and the problem returns a few days later. I called the emergency line when the thermostat reached 80 degrees and was told "I'll see if someone can come out" and no one ever did, nor did they follow up with me. The lease clearly states that no AC is a maintenance emergency when outside temperatures are >85 degrees, and it has been 100 degrees out every day. Seems like they prioritize cost savings over resident comfort and abiding by lease terms.

This is the absolute worst apartment complex I’ve lived in (and my previous apartment had a roach infestation).
There were regular break ins, fire alarms going off for hours in the middle of the night, leaking ceilings, cracked walls, gross hallway floors, elevators down for weeks at a time, chronically broken doors, strong chemical smells seeping through the roof, and the worst part is that there was terrible communication and no accountability for these issues.
I think they made some minor, mostly misdirected efforts to improve the place while we lived there (like choosing to paint the garage gate rather than increasing garage security after weekly break ins). However, nothing they did was adequate to overcome the rapid entropy that is driving this place into complete disrepair.
Honestly, a little communication/accountability would have gone a long way. It wasn’t just one thing, but a cascade of many unresolved issues building over time that have resulted in this resentful review.
To their credit - the best move they made while we lived there was hiring Joseph (and his sidekick), who was kind and responsive the handful of times we had maintenance needs.
Would not recommend living here if you have ANY other options.

I went to see a unit at SYNC and they said it's being painted, they showed me a similar one and said they would send me videos of it in the afternoon. It's been three days of me following up and nothing.
Today, I saw that all of a sudden they had jacked up the price.
Disappointing management, but I'm happy I didn't end up renting from them.

I love calling SYNC at Mueller my home! Casey and Elsy are the best and always quick to communicate what is happening in our community. :)
