my vat submitted the paper work Monday afternoon, told them we need it by Friday since travel is on saturday morning. They had 3 full days to review, approve, and send it via overnight. They just got back and said 'oh change is needed' They don't give a dime about your travel, situation. nothing. I'm so sad my hard worked tax is going toward these lazy people.

Their address is 903 San Jacinto. The entrance is underneath the drive-in part right where ninth Street hit San Jacinto. It’s across San Jacinto from prosperity bank. Why they haven’t been able to figure out that 900-948 is not their address it’s on the other side of the street from the even numbers is beyond me. Other than that seem like nice people and I got my export certificate.

They were extremely accommodating to ensure that my pet made my military PCS overseas despite my veterinarian's office messing up the paperwork.

I hand delivered the paperwork that I needed approved in order to move my pets overseas, but despite the fact that there were 3 people sitting in plain view, it took them over 4 hours to get the signatures needed with only about 5 minutes to spare before they were to close. A true government office.

Same day service until 1:30pm. Just make sure that your vet puts the expiration date---not just the treatment date---for your pet' rabies vaccination, if you are going for am international health certificate!

So I'll be moving out of the country in a few days and one of the processes in order to take your pet abroad is to have them approved at the USDA office. Knowing that I only have 10 days to get everything done before my flight I decided to drive to Austin and take advantage of their walk-in hours. Luckily I did because apparently there was some issues with my puppies birthday listed on the paperwork. So I was able to call my vet back in Houston along with the vet who wrote my international health certificate for my trip.I submitted my paperwork at 8:30 AM and got a call about three hours later. They say it takes an hour to an hour and a half but I am assuming its based on if everything is perfect and correct. Luckily I just went and had brunch with a friend to kill time because otherwise I would've had to pay for parking downtown. Overall my experience was great! Employees are nice and they made everything seamless. If you ever plan on going to another country with your pet I highly recommend just taking a drive and getting it over and done with. Especially with the mandatory 10 day flight rule I would just not risk it in general. I promise you'll be in and out within a few hours with a peace of mind knowing everything is done.

The vet who dealt with our case, Dr Simon, was really lovely and went above & beyond in working with our vet to get some corrected certificates that were needed.

Pretty disappointing. I went in about 8:30AM during "walk in" hours and was relieved to see no one else waiting. I droppped off my certs and documentation and was informed it would be about 2 hours because all the vets were in a meeting (scheduling a meeting for the critical employees of the organization during public "walk in" hours seemed odd, but typical for government efficiency.) Later I was called on the way home and informed my certs did not qualify (my vet had used Revolution instead of Frontline and therefore did not qualify for my trip). So I spent the entire day recertifying my cats and trying to put together a certs they would accept. All in all, there is no customer service, they are unapologetic and unhelpful. (When I walked in the two employees there who apparently WEREN'T part of meeting were loudly discussing overtime pay on a speaker phone with some other govt human resource person...while I patiently waited). Anyway do not expect the warmth you would normally get from a vetrinarian...these are govt employees pure an simple and they act like it.
