Highly recommend this place for ceiling fan shopping. I was able to try a plethora of demo units and see in person the light brightness, hear the motor noise, and compare airflow levels. The shop was quiet enough so I could listen to the motors, although it was a little tricky to figure out which switches in the shop were wired to which fans. Motor dB and low speed airflow were critical to my purchase, so being able to compare several top brands in person was excellent. I will return for future fan replacements.

John and Mike are wonderful!!! Mike is super knowledgeable and always willing to assist in anyway possible. John is a walking encyclopedia on Antique Ceiling fans, especially Tuerk and Hunter models. We traveled from North Carolina to Austin and had John clean and service 3 of our Antique Ceiling Fans. We will use Texas Ceiling Fans again!!! Thank you!!

The experience with Texas Ceiling Fans was amazing. We needed a couple modern ceiling fans and a couple more traditional ceiling fans. Mike explained why the Hunter Original was the best fan ever made and we went with two of them for the living room and two Minka Aire fans for the bedrooms. Great value, the pricing was in line/beat online pricing. Overall an amazing experience. The antique fan museum was also a good bonus! Will be back!

we had a really positive experience with Texas Ceiling Fans. awesome local store and great customer service. we looked in person at a bunch of fans around the store, and we were also given a couple catalogues to look through and given some additional info. Mike was friendly and helpful. we were told that they could order us whatever we liked that we saw, including different downrods and such, and we ended up ordering five fans from them. ordering was easy, pickup was easy, and I'm really glad we used Texas Ceiling Fans. very happy with our new fans!

Recently Texas Ceiling fans made some adjustments to my living room fan. This is on a 12' ceiling and I couldn't deal with it. The technician fixed the wobble and the noise. In addition he was able to change out the shades. The old ones appeared to have been superglued-they were difficult to remove. The work was done quickly and efficiently and I was glad to have these things done by a technician who was skilled, knowledgeable and polite. Thank you, Texas Ceiling Fans.

Recently, I bought three brown (distressed koa) Minka Aire ceiling fans from Texas Ceiling Fans. The owner, John, and manager, Mike, are super knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Dave, the electrician they recommended, was thorough and did a wonderful job installing my fans.The fans are gorgeous and reasonably priced too. They work well, move a lot of air, and are quiet even when set on the highest speed. I am very happy with my purchase from Texas Ceiling Fans.

I bought a Minka Air ceiling fan with a light built in in January 2008. We had concerns about the light going bad when we bought it, but we were assured that it rarely happens. We were quite happy with our purchase and experience with Mike for quite some time. After Winter Strom Uri hit, the light started flickering. Eventually we contacted Mike who tried to get a replacement from the manufacturer, but after several weeks of back and forth he was unable to get a replacement because the fan is discontinued. He tried what he could to get the issue resolved, even sent us home with a light kit from a different fan, which did not fit our fan. I feel like Mike genuinely did what he could to get our situation resolved. Eventually he sent a technician to our house. This is when the negative experience starts.The technician walks in and immediately sees my smart switches and says, "Those aren't compatible with the fan" We had a few minutes of back and forth, I explain that the fan worked for years with these switches, that can't be, maybe they have gone bad, but I know they are compatible. He then bypasses all the switches, the light still flickers. He does some more fiddling around and the problem seemed to stop. He says I have a wiring problem and the fan needs 120 Volts (without testing the voltage). I had installed the smart switches myself, and acknowledge there might be a wiring problem. The technician leaves, I had to figure out what wires were what and reconnect everything, as he left with the switches bypassed and none of the wires labeled. I re-install everything being extra careful to make sure all the connections are secure. I tried different switches, everything I could think of before finally bringing a certified electrician in. The electrician confirmed the wiring was fine, the voltage to the fan was fine, the switches were fine, it was the light kit that was bad. Eventually I got a new fan from amazon, it's working just fine.Still giving 2 stars because I really like Mike, just a terrible experience with the technician that cost me a lot of time.Update: no I'm not removing my review, the technician may be independent but he was sent by your store. That last paragraph of your reply is definitely false. Except that it was more than 3 months ago.

Incredible customer service, knowledgeable, and delightful to work with! Remodeling my home, I needed 2 Hunter Original fans matching the others I have. I wanted Originals that were made in Memphis, haven't been in production since 2003, and thankfully stumbled on Texas Ceiling Fans. John and Mike found and rebuilt a couple of Originals, repaired my 1996 Hunter Original that had frozen up, and got replacement blades and other parts for my additional fans so all are now working beautifully. John's a Hunter Fan historian. I made a 3-hour trip to Austin to meet him and Mike, and to see the shop - a real treasure!

One of the best on-line companies I have used. My Amazon order was routed through Texas Ceiling Fans and I was having a problem with an exchange. The TCF owner personally called and kept me continuously updated as he helped resolve the exchange problem with Amazon. These are some of the most customer-friendly people I have worked with. They certainly had my best interest in mind. Unfortunately, I could give them only a five star rating…there isn’t a ten star selection.

Very nice selection of in-stock ceiling fans from outstanding manufacturers like Minka Aire, Casablanca, etc. Mike had two of the fans we wanted in stock at a very reasonable price. Easy parking behind the building.

I recently stopped in to see John and Mike at Texas Ceiling Fan because l was looking for an antique black and brass 36 inch Hunter ceiling for a bedroom in my house. I figured that they would be my best chance of getting that particular fan since Hunter Fans had ceased producing that particular fan years ago. John said for me to give him a few days and he would see if he might possibly have one in his massive parts and fan inventory. He located one and told me that he would restore it for me and have it ready for pickup in two weeks. True to his word he did exactly that. It is such a beautiful addition to my bedroom.I have known John since the inception of Texas Ceiling Fans way back to 1977 and have purchased over 30or more restored or new fans from him. The thing that keeps me coming back is John and Mike. The friendship, the service, and and the old fashioned quality of product is a rarity in this day and time. If you miss that or want to see what it looks like , stop by and Visit with John and Mike. You will be glad you did.

This store is a national treasure! I have been buying fans from Texas Ceiling Fans since the 1980s when I used to live in Austin. John and Mike are super knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. They really know their fans and are very generous with their time sharing their expertise. Over the years I have become somewhat of a vintage fan collector with their help.Even though I'm no longer local, this is still my go to place for fans. They recently helped me buy a new fan as well as restore an old Hunter Original classic fan. What a great resource and a refreshing contrast to nameless and faceless big box stores. Good luck trying to get this kind of service from some website. Thanks John and Mike, you guys ROCK!!

Had a great sales experience here to buy a new outdoor patio fan. I bought it right before Thanksgiving and paid in advance but then the product was never delivered!I called the store several times to find out what happened, but they never answered. Finally had to file a dispute with my credit card company - luckily I got the money back from them. Ended up having to buy the same fan from Amazon (and it was a bit cheaper).I was surprised by this experience after the 5 star reviews I saw, and my own personal experience - the owner was very friendly. Hope he's OK.
