It hasn't changed for 50 years, keep up the good work. I bought things there when I was in junior high school, college and much later. There is nothing like it and I hope it stays around longer than me.

The Austin versus Round Rock store experience is totally different. I live north but make this drive because the staff greet everyone, are skilled, helpful, informative, and inspiring. A staff member walked with us and taught us about different types of leather, thicknesses and uses. She helped us find the perfect material for a reupholstery project, helped problem solve an issue and was reassuring, inviting us to call or stop by if we hit a snag. We walked out of there with sewing machine needles and a hide. You do have to buy the whole hide at Tandy. Hobby Lobby is next door which was convenient.

This new location is a 180º switch from the old spot. It used to be big and weird, with lots of room, lots of product, and a funky Austin vibey staff. The new place feels sterile, cramped, and "retailey" strip mall-ish. Definitely not weird, and could be anywhere in America. No flavor. As if corporate didn't like the artsy feel of the old digs and made the upgrade. No thanks, Mom. Staff was nice, but kinda sterile- it just feels focused on the sales, not on fostering creative ideas. So I bought exactly what I needed, that's all. At the old place, I'd wander, look around, get inspired and buy more. + a star for getting rid of the "club pricing" BS. that was super lame. Now if they could recognize what the "creative class" is.

Amazing selection, avg prices and a friendly staff. The fact there are tables on which to craft things is almost unbelievable in this day and age. Can't recommend enough.

This store everything you need for belt conchas and accessories as well as leather products, I highly recommend this store.

Have been here a few times. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. They have free classes most Saturdays which I have attended as well. I stared going to learn enough to make some knife sheaths for a knife making hobby I have. I know very little about leather work but They have me excited about getting started. I know if I have questions or run into a snag they are just a phone call away. Great place to learn or shop! I highly recommend them!

If I could give 10-stars I would. Went in without knowing much of anything and came out with a wealth of knowledge ready to tackle my project. Rex was incredibly patient and supremely helpful, answering all my questions and giving me a quick demo of methods. I'm excited to finish this project so I can start another!! Thank you, Rex!

I am just starting leather craft as a hobby, I came in to the store with multiple questions, the man who assisted me today was very patient and he also took the time to explain in regards the tools, the best thing is he also explained which tools I did not needed and recommended other options.Thank you for the great service!

Good to have them back open! (Gone by at least 3 times and closed.) Purchased some leather and talked to a Vet? Offering advice on his project. (Not sure the staff is that leather knowledgeable...)

I called today to verify their hours and was told this store was open until 4pm today. I then drove 40 minutes here to purchase some leather and when I arrived the store associate had locked the front door and was standing in the back of the store. I waited for the associate to unlock the door to let me in, as there were no other customers inside, and instead they left out of the back of the store, leaving it closed early and wasting my time by telling me it was open and rudely leaving after I was seen waiting at the front. This is so incredibly frustrating as I was lied to directly and ignored.
