My son has just flourished here at sweet briar. Mrs Patty has been more than awesome she really enjoys her job and it shows, she has been so nurturing and positive with my son and I can tell he loves being there. All the teaches are so wonderful! Sweet briar is truly a great place for your child.

*I’m leaving a review for the new or unsure moms & dads*
When I first started looking for a daycare I had no idea where to put our infant. I saw brand new centers with hefty price tags and I never felt comfortable and couldn’t figure out why. It felt like we would pay an incredibly large sum for her to be just another number. But sweet Briar has a family atmosphere the second you walk in (it’s a charming little place). They made my daughter feel like part of their family, as well as us which is important to parents. They gave our daughter patience, grace, and she had fun learning which is all any parent could ask for. I didn’t want her to feel like she was at a center but at *home* and that is exactly what this daycare and staff provide. They also were great at communicating as I was often working and worried how she was doing. I saw her blossom and even start walking in the process. They are flexible to work with and I couldn’t recommend them more!

We love sweetbriar for our daughter. We have been there almost two years now. The teacher turn over is low, the enthusiasm and kindness of every employee is so refreshing. Highly recommend it for a school- the kids are learning, it’s not just daycare.

As a teacher, you have to be patient with kids but the lady in the 2 year old classroom needs a different job if she lacks patience. The director (Maria) does not qualify to be in child care. She needs proper training including some of the teachers. She cares more about losing her teachers than providing support to children with special needs. They could not handle an active 2 year old, Such a shame! I was told my 2 year old could no longer attend their facility because the teacher is having a hard time with him in the classroom. He is 2 and very active and if you do not have technics to handle all type of kids you need to close down! They referred us for occupational therapy, and as I was waiting to hear back from the agency that provides the services, the teacher, owner and director agreed to drop my son. The director has no EQ and is disrespectful to the bone! My son would always come home with sand in his diaper area, head and inside his shirt. I am disgusted on how they treated him and I would alert any black parent to think twice before sending their kids there. All other kids would be neat and clean but may baby always looked different. I wish I had pulled him out sooner than later. Thank God there are options. To the teacher of that classroom and Maria the director, this field is not for you and you should lose your licenses.I wish I can give you zero star…Run from this place if you are black.

Sweetbriar has everything you are looking for in a daycare. Staff with experience whom are attentive and caring, a clean environment, and well
Worth the price. The atmosphere is NORMAL. FAR from the pretentiousness that some daycares can be. It’s probably the best transition from daycare to school in Austin the way the curriculum is set up. I am Very happy with son here.

I thought this was a nice neighborhood preschool, until my son was moved into Ms. Sheila's three-year-old class. My son learned how to potty sitting down, but Sheila said in her class he had to stand up. This caused him to poop his pants multiple times a week. She said she doesn't wipe butts, so he had constant rashes. There is only one teacher at pick up, so you never have face time with your teacher. I would send messages through the Brightwheel app, and not receive any replies -- including, asking her to sit him on the potty each day between lunch and nap during his normal BM. I even had to leave work during the middle of the day to bring my child clothes because she'd forget to tell me he needs more clean clothes. Due recess they have three classes on the playground being watched by only one teacher. My kid constantly came home with dried blood in his nose and bandaids all over his body without any communication on what happened. I actually think it's probable that no adult saw him getting hurt, so they couldn't tell me. My kid got his tooth cracked at this school and they acted like it wasn't a big deal. Ms. Sheila is a bully. She complained that Gus wouldn't nap - they combine three classes with one teacher during nap time as well. She asked me to keep my kid up an extra hour every night and wake him up earlier so he would come to school tired. It's the exact opposite of what all the experts say about sleep, but I did this because I wanted to work as a team with her. As parents, we trust our children's caregivers to actually care for them. The only reason I've taken the time to write this all out, is so other parents have more information when deciding whether or not to trust Sweet Briar with their kids.

Our daughter has been attending Sweet briar for 4 months now (started when she turned 1). Our experience has been wonderful. Ms.Silvia is amazing and patient with the littles. She has taught her so much. Gave her the confidence to walk, let go of the bottle, learn how to drink out of a cup without spilling and so much more. The crafts and activities they do are great!
We are very happy we found Sweet Briar ☺️

This daycare has been nothing but excellent for my family. My daughter goes and has loved every teacher she's had. I'm always surprised by how much my kid learns every day. The facilities are great. Its in a quaint little house with a cool play yard that my daughter is also very fond of. They take pics of the kids and often post them in the app they use to communicate with you. I love seeing pics of my kid enjoying the daycare. I cant say enough good things about everyone at Sweet Briar. If your considering enrolling you child you wont regret it.

Caring, knowledgeable and professional staff who really helped my kids develop. My children were at Sweet Briar for 3 years and are aging out. I am truly sad to go. We started at the Woodway Village location and transitioned to Sandra Street nearer to the older kids school after a year and a half. The staff is extremely kind and educated in child development. I was never concerned about my children's well-being. The diet is great and includes fruits and vegetables at each meal. This really broadened my kids veggie options at home which I appreciated. If a normal fall or something happened that caused a slight injury which was rare especially compared to other daycares I used before, I was always notified, presented with an injury report and never had to question the circumstances. There are always numerous activities for the kids to do and they are a certified pre-K, and it shows in the curriculum. I received regular updates with documentation measuring the kids progress and development. The facilities have always been well kept and since Covid, great measures in place. I am so thankful I found Sweet Briar. I did extensive research on daycares in the area and tried my luck and failed with some before finding this gem. For the affordable price and program offered, you will find no better place for your little one to blossom!

This is a wonderful place for our children. The staff has been so gracious and consistent with care, teaching, and support to the students. During the pandemic parents are kind enough to distance themselves during drop off and pick up. As our kids grow they miss their former teacher but can't stop praising their new teacher. We are so grateful to have found a daycare home.

This is a fantastic day care! I love how interactive yet structured the schedule is. The teachers are caring and creative, and I love supporting a development center that has been a part of Austin's childhood development since the 1960's.

Worse day care ever!! The location at Woodway village Apt is not managed by a licensed director. There is high turn over. The teachers are inconsistent. The one consistent employee is allowed to make decisions such as discontinue care if your child has any type of issues such as speech, cognitive and behavioral including children not being potty trained. The owner doesn't know how nor have the patience for children. You can not rely on this place to open as scheduled. There were times they opened two to three hour late and that's not on a poor weather day. It was due to employees not showing up and the one consistent employee refused to go in earlier to open for the kids and parents. This place used to be known as little dudes and changed their name but is owned by the same owners?? If you need reliable safe care with consistent faces for your child and some where prejudice free this is not the place you will end up having to find another day care in less than 1 year to six months. Either that or you'll be a$$ up finding day care in the last minute.
To make matters worse this is a day care funded by CCMS and is supposed to be acredited and most of the children in this day care have some type of abuse or come from CPS homes.

This is an amazing daycare. It is small with stellar staff that care. Our daughters teacher is sweet and patient and our daughter loves her. The curriculum is great and our daughter has learned so much. She learning everyday things like how to clean up and put things in the trash and away and say thank you along with learning animals, colors, numbers and her abcs and can speak Spanish. The daycare is so welcoming being in a beautiful bright building with windows and a huge outdoor area. They have gardens and play outdoors under trees with open playgrounds and play houses and play with water tables and bubbles and have popsicle treats during the summer. Everyday is different activities geared towards the subject they are learning. They have cooking lessons and art each week along with parties and celebrations. We love how affordable it is. We are glad we found this school.

Little Dudes Learning center on Sandra St is a wonderful place to take your child and also a fun and loving environment for any parent who has to work. If you are looking into reviews for your future choice for your son/daughter, please know I am doing this review because I remember this was an important factor in my process. I also will say over a year ago when I was looking for a place to leave my amazing 2 year old son, I also reviewed EVERY single daycare/nursery/private care in Austin. After all of that, and with now a seven month history I can proudly say I ended up with Little Dudes Learning Center! . I am so happy and grateful for all the communication, diaper logs, and investment they have put in him and I want to pass on to other parents reading anything negative below that I know when it comes to your child, things can be very upsetting...so sometimes through misunderstanding or being a company that hjas to make hard choices I get what and why others said what they did but I also know the emotion involved in loving someone this much. I can promise reading the below critiques that I have only seen them ever in front of a TV in the early early morning drop offs as well as latest pick ups ( and our very very few freezing days). Most days my son comes homes falling asleep in his seat with a smile. Other then that, when I can drop in I see theirs days there are filled with children of all ages ( all long term and have been there since we started) and they laugh and play together, have musical instruments, thoughtful holiday parties, memorable projects (x-mas tree ornament with their hand prints and date) as well as crafts for parents to keep and cherish. They also have gardens, a wonderful cook who greets every child each morning and creates food out of love, a director who does listen and care and is concerned about everyone's comfort and safety, endlessly nurturing and smiling teachers, great desk help for payments and information, and a safe and entertaining playground. This place is amazing and there is very little difference from this location and ones that are high cost, except that they are not in it for the money and they do care. The price is a gift living in Austin, and so are they. They also have frequent handout for events and hours, as well as a Facebook page to keep their community involved. I can say when this started through search and research over a year ago that I did leave it up to my son to decide where he felt most at home. Out of 5 different daycare centers, he picked this location and has been happy ever since. I have been as well. I truly recommend this location for any parent wanting a warm and caring staff to surround their children in an educational homey environment (away from home)...I couldn't ask for any place/anyone better, especially while I have to sadly be away from my child who I love more than anything on earth.
