Unkind "vet" and disrespectful, unwilling to share diagnosis of my miniature pup who needed urgent care to my parents who are disabled. Vet was angry over inquiry on military discount. Overall, unprofessional and unwilling to share diagnosis and treatment. Concerned this office does not conduct work charged.

Two stars mainly because they helped our animal through a crisis and helped with treatment. Our dog needs monthly shots and they raised the prices by over 150% ($59 to $159) citing an "error on their end in billing." Patel is smart and knowledgeable, but the business suffers from extremely poor organization and complete lack of accountability on their errors.

Honestly, do not go here. I wish the business well but it looks like it's on its last legs and understandably so. I went in with my parrot and the doctor just put a towel over the cage and said it's aggressive and he doesn't see anything wrong with it. Our visit was because the parrot wasn't eating or drinking and the vet just said "I don't know what you want me to do he looks fine". After reading all the comments on Yelp I realized it's good we didn't processed with the blood drawing or anything because the vet looked so bothered and annoyed that he had to attend to a bird. It was a quick 5 min visit for $55 for him to just say he didn't know what to do. Please read mine and all of the other reviews before coming to this vet, there are many other clinics that care about animals that could attend you better.

You know one of our dogs had gone here because he was sick and a year or two later I found out they didn't bother calling to see if we wanted the dog to be put down or not and they let our dog die and the same dog has always come to this vet because they've known him long enough to know health problems with him but honestly I liked the place because it was the only vet we had went to but when they let the dog just die without telling us that's what hurts this place doesn't even deserve a one star I wish I could give a 0 star since this vet deserves it more than anywhere else because I am just traumatized from this place and I honestly never react this way with anywhere but I hope this place shuts down because they did too much I wanted and promised the dog I'd become a vet to help take care of him or take vet classes but that ruined it for me although I am in vet classes I hate this vet DO NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE I would never want anyone to suffer with this vet because they aren't like other vets most other vets will not just do what they can for money but this place my family REFUSES to come back here I do not want to go by this place because when we do I always cry a little bit when I think of what they did because they never bothered checking up on the pets or anything but they just want money I hate that they spend 4 years in college then maybe 4 years in high school practicing to do this so they can let animals die and suffer make people upset and disappointed in the vet like yeah I get you need money but don't let animals just die for your check I don't know how they don't feel bad about how the owners of pets feel about this vet like honestly they shouldn't bother having the job they have because you should fucking care about your damn customers instead of the fucking money we pay you to let our animals die like I hope this place can learn a thing or two from my review I really can go on for weeks on this review which I might because when the same dog needed medicine they never bothered getting it ready and they were too cheap about the whole check ups and everything else I just hate when this vet did these things because you pay for school and everything to learn from giving some shots to a 4 week old puppy to giving them surgeries like why not be glad you have this good of a job because I do not want to put up with their bullshit and I am unsure if anyone else has experienced this here but I won't be coming back even if every vet closed down but this one I will not let any pet of mine or anyone else come to this vet for anything but the place was so messy too the people weren't very nice they were all rude and had no care in this world to be honest they just wanted money it fucking sucks...

I have been seeing Dr. Patel for over a decade now. I have taken multiple dogs here for many different reasons over the years. He hand his staff have now helped me guide two of my precious babies over the rainbow bridge. They have comforted me in some of the worst moments of my life. Dr. Patel is one of the most intelligent and compassionate vets you will ever come across. This is a no frills vet office that will find the most efficient, effective, and affordable way to care for your pet. They are serving their community by being in business and I hope they are here forever.

Come here if you don't want to wait to get your pet their shots or an exam. I can usually get an appointment within 3 days. I've been taking multiple pets here throughout the years and have always had good experiences.

I would rate lower if an option. They lost my cat. He was to be sedated for shots and they let him get out of kennel prior to sedation. He escaped into the drop acoustic ceiling and seems from his faint meow to be in an interior space. At one point a woman from the office was laughing about it!! I dont know how this will be resolved.

I called and made an appointment to get my puppy spayed and was surprised I was able to get in the next day. I tried other places around town and they were booked up. I checked my own vets office but it would've cost 3 1/2 times the cost as what I paid here. When I took my puppy in for the appointment the next morning, I discovered I contacted the wrong branch and I had made an appointment for the Wells Branch location. However, the South Branch worked us in and I was still able to get my puppy spayed that day. I was very impressed they were so willing to accommodate me. Most places would've just said I'm sorry, but you can book a future appointment if you'd like. I opted for the pain injection, which replaces the need to administer pain medication over a couple days following the procedure, that was was a nice option too. My puppy's surgery went went really well and her incision looks good. She was back to her normal self by the next morning, licking my face to wake me up If you need your pet spayed or neutered, I'd highly recommend this place. There was one other really thoughtful feature this office had that I noticed when I picked up my puppy that I have never seen at another vet office. They had a sign and a candle (which was lit) that asked people to please keep voices down when they see the candle lit as someone was there saying goodbye to their pet. I thought that was a great symbol of compassion and respect. Thanks Pet & Bird Clinic!

I am incredibly shocked at how poorly I was treated yesterday by the veterinarian here, i found a stray kitten and just wanted to get her some help and he proceeded to forcibly grab her 3 pound paralyzed body and did things to her that made her freak out without any warning, without letting me know what to expect. instead of explaining what my options were, just said " yep. Paralyzed" and didn't do any other nerve test until I asked him to check again and she then had a nerve reaction. Poor girl was defecating and urinating all over the table, my bag, and clothes. I had to run and grab paper towels while he was rude about it and did not stop emptying out her bladder on top of everything. I've worked in pet hospitals my entire life and his lack of empathy or care was disturbing. Mekonnen gave me a prescription for 62.7ml for a 3 pound cat!! He charged me $15 to get an Rx script (which is fair, but every receptionist told me it was cheaper prior to him arbitrarily upping the cost ) because I declined buying it from them (online it was $18 cheaper). I also had one of the meds at home he prescribed and he was annoyed that I refused to get more when I told him it was unnecessary. I was shocked when i showed my pharmacist and she was enraged by the unprofessionalism, she is also reporting him as well to the Veterinary Board and the BBB. I was placed on hold 4 times after 30 min waits and just kept having to call back, spoke to a girl (who was very kind but "in training" )and she told me wrong information that upped my bill at the end of the visit. It was a truly horrible experience. the cherry on top is that he was nowhere to be found when the pharmacist called asking for clarification and had "stepped out" leaving ZERO contact information for an on-call doctor. I asked them to delete my information because I will never come back here and if you care about your babies you should avoid this place like the plague. He should not be practicing medicine considering if I had gotten the drugs and dosage as suggested, this baby would be dead. He also poked her 4 times with the same needle and spoke over me as I pleaded with him to stop.

I'm still traumatized by my experiences with this clinic. In all fairness, I've had terrible experiences at other clinics, too. I know we're all human and we all make mistakes at times, but some things should just never happen... Some things are just unacceptable. And some people should not be allowed to work with animals. I sincerely hope this place has improved and is a place of healing and compassion. I hope that today this place treats all animals with the respect and dignity they deserve. And, if it does, that's all that matters now. Wherever you choose to take your pet, don't let anyone get away with mistreating them, not for a minute. Stick up for them and protect them. And if you work at a clinic, report offenses. Don't look away just to avoid rocking the boat. If you see something, say something. Listen to your gut and stick up for these innocent creatures. The pet that's saved may be yours.

They were honest, didn't do extra things to charge me more. I really like them, they explained everything and told me steps I could take at home to help remedy the situation, instead of shoving expensive tests and pills down our throats.

I've been coming here for a number of years. It is a low cost, no extras vet and that was fine. But, they have changed a lot in the last year since I brought my dog in for her annual checkup. It began with no reminder card or call that it was time for her checkup. Then when I got there I waited for 30 minutes for my pet to be seen and she was pretty freaked out by then. The tech was fine and the vet did a cursory look at my dog mainly looking at her weight and listening to her heart. He only checked her ears when I requested it. He was there probably 3-4 minutes total. Then I went to check out and was shocked at the price. It was $100 more than last year and I was sure there was an error. Nope their prices have gone up and they didn't apply the routine discount I've gotten for many years. They said they can't honor the discount without the coupon. I said that it wasn't required for many years. The front desk women was surly and demanded I pay the whole bill. I was livid when I left. It costs more, took longer and I had to deal with an unpleasant and unreasonable person to check out. I will never go back. Just be prepared for a quick, cursory exam, higher costs even if you remember to bring the coupon (which hasn't been required for years). The current costs are not supported by the services and unpleasant front desk personnel and I'm done.

Very disappointed with this place. Yeah they're "cheap" but as the cliche goes "you get what you pay for!" Dr Mekonen or something like that came into the room where I was with my cat in cat carrier. Of course my cat is hissing and I opened the door to the carrier.....you know what this so call VET said.....leave him in there I don't want him to bite me. even. I made the appointment because my cat had a lump on his side. Dr barely touched him and said......It's a pimple. Quack is what he is. That was it for a $100 visit. Bump ended up being a tumor and thank god other cat clinic was able to help my boy. These bad vets need to be regulated better.
