I had high hopes for this place. It’s close to home and their online menu looked pretty good. Unfortunately, the pictures were better than the food.I used DoorDash and got my order quickly which is why I at least rated them two stars. I ordered General Tso’s chicken and my wife ordered Sesame Tofu. The order also came with one large container of rice for $50.The first thing I noted was that the rice was old, hard and dried out so it was thrown away as it was useless. The next thing was that my wife’s tofu was barely fried and was very soft and mushy, not like any other place we’ve ordered from. She ate less than half her order and tossed the rest. I tried my chicken and the breading was the same…over-soaked in sauce, causing it to be too soft and mushy. The chicken inside was dry and hard like it was overcooked. Again, not like any other place I’ve order this entree from. We both were very disappointed with our meals.Sadly, this was our first time ordering here and after spending $50 on two entrees we expected much more so it will be our last time ordering.Reviews from others rated it so highly I had to give it a chance and believe me, my standards aren’t that high. But overcooked chicken, old/ dried out rice and undercooked tofu (how can you get that wrong?) will have me looking elsewhere.

Ordered one thing and got something I didn’t order. I was hungry so I dug in. It was beef in a brown sauce and the beef tasted pretty good. BUT, it was sitting in a pile on onions as big as the plate and about 4 inches high. If you LOVE onions, this is the place for you. Halfway through that they brought me what I was supposed to have (not realizing I had already gotten someone else’s food on the other side of the restaurant). The dish I asked for came and it was not really edible (sorry but it’s the truth). I gave it the ol college try. It was also a beef dish. But the beef was tough and the breading in the fried beef was also hard and chewy. The taste was not bad at all but my jaws got sore after a couple mouths full. Also, there was zero sauce of any kind with this so it was very dry. My wife’s dish was “Firecracker Shrimp? I think. It was way different than ANY other Firecracker Shrimp we have ever had. It WAS breaded but the breading was not good and it was very greasy (Think Long John Silvers). The sauce , rather than be orange, a little tangy and spicy, was some kind of mayonnaise type sauce. For us, it was a VERY bad experience. If you want to try it, have a backup plan in case you walk out. Take this review for what it’s worth. I REALLY REALLY wanted to like/love this place. I’ll try again in 6 months, may be not quite dialed in yet.

Disorganized, unprofessional staff and low quality food . They have never once been on time and they will actually lie to you about the wait time

This was my first meal in Austin. The owner or manager treated us well on Christmas Day. I know it’s tough to keep working during holidays. But they still did their best. Even made us a new guo bao rou after we made some feedback/comments. You got to try their beef noodles.

Those of you saying best Chinese ever, or even best Chinese in Austin, stop. Just stop. However, if you want to say best in Lakeway area, I'll agree with that. Tasty and good portion size. And finally, someone who can deliver crispy egg roll wrappers!

Best Chinese food ever. I just keep getting the same thing, egg rolls and the Combination Lomein. It's enough food for at least two meals and absolutely delicious. The service is also great. Always the same smiley and super friendly guy there. Got my kids and friends addicted to that place too.Parking: Plenty of parking spaces available right in front of the Restaurant. Including handicapped.

Our second time going for dinner. We were a group of 10 and ordered family style. Th food and service were great! Everyone loved pork steamed buns, the Mongolian chicken and the eggplant and green bean dishes the most.

We liked this place a lot. We ordered three appetizers, pork egg rolls, fried pork dumplings and fried tempura. Our favorite was the fried pork dumplings. The dipping sauce was delicious! The tempura was really good, too. The pork egg rolls were okay but not the best I’ve ever had. The sweet and sour sauce was too sweet and there was no sour.I ordered the Mongolian beef and it was outstanding. It was very tender and the sauce was great! My companion ordered the braised eggplant with garlic and chili. The eggplant was cooked perfectly. The only drawback was that the sauce was too sweet and needed a little umami.Overall we liked the food and will be coming back.

After just finishing a conversation with my partner about our desire for GOOD Chinese food, we found this place! The food looked exactly like the photos in the menu. We were very pleased with the service, the place was clean, and the staff even offered us suggestions. After ordering several dishes we will 100% be making this a weekly stop. Excellent addition to Lakeway’s restaurant scene.

I am very happy to have another good, authentic Chinese restaurant in Lakeway. The dishes are decent value because you do get a lot for the price. Everyone in our party likes what they ordered. We will definitely be back for dine in & take outs!

It was good experience in the beginning of this restaurant opened, and thought finally there is Chinese restaurant in this area. Then later I found the food looks different with the pictures sometimes. I ordered fish and tofu soup one time, it came out the sour vegetable with fish soup, and spicy. I thought I should be told about that at least because I was sitting there and ordering with my little son who can not have spicy food which I told them. Besides, I ordered same dish twice, and found it’s getting less. Today, the pork rib came out red color without flavor, no sweet no salty no sour as they described. The pork rib on the picture is not red, I don’t understand why dye it red, I don’t like give colored food to my kid and feel it’s unhealthy. Then I heard the waitress complained to her coworker in the kitchen about me urging them while I was waiting. I only asked how long it will take for the food be ready to take out after waiting there for 15 minutes with my son, I spoke peacefully without any temper, just thought about to wait in my car with my son if it will take longer, so he could play there rather than sitting on the high chair and spinning and be bored. It’s not kids friendly environment. Nothing for kids to play or coloring or safely sit to wait. Her complain was so loud that I can heard from outside of the kitchen, and I understand Chinese. I feel not be welcomed there and awkward. If the food today is good enough, I can ignore these, but it doesn’t. Spend $30, but my son doesn’t like the fried rice nor the pork rib. Me either. The fried rice is too oily, very little vegetables in side, not like the picture shown. Not sure if I will go there anymore.
