The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Austin is a large store with a wide range of items, including furniture and dishes. It offers good deals, especially on the right day, and many find the selection impressive. The service is often described as awesome, friendly, and helpful, with specific staff members noted for being kind and going above and beyond. The proceeds from sales fund Adult Rehabilitation Centers, supporting a good cause. However, the store can be very busy, leading to long wait times at checkout, and it sometimes appears understaffed. There are occasional issues with checkout computers being down. Some customers report experiences of being overcharged, advising others to carefully check their items and totals before paying. Despite these operational challenges, many customers find the store amazing and worth the trip, even from a distance, though the experience can vary.
I enjoy shopping the sale here. Though the store is more crowded with addition of more clothes, I usually find something to purchase. Staff is generally friendly.
