Hidden service fee that's not listed in the price. A 15% charge is added to the bill. This is deceptive and the company's operating cost should be embedded in the cost of the items like all other restaurant.Besides that, food was good. Very fresh. Service was good. I would recommend but hope the business changes their deceptive billing

I checked reviews before arriving and the Charcuterie boards looked appetizing. However, we were of course expecting similar fresh cuts of meat and cheese and instead got bland slabs of Pâté. Sausages were the only good thing on the board. Didn’t even take a picture as it looked like some Cesar’s dog food was being served, yikes! Cheese was also a let down. Very disappointing especially considering this is also a butcher shop. Not worth the money, other places such as Salty Sow and Grove wine bar & kitchen were much more appetizing.

Edit: had to reduce my review when I learned that the "beef fat fries" are also in sunflower oil. This is my favorite restaurant in Austin. They always have legit farm-to-table ingredients in both the butcher shop and the restaurant. The beef fat fries are the best fries in the city.My only really critique is that they do not carry grass-finished beef and don't have that many gluten free options. A huge number of our customers are the paleo crowd, and I think those things would go a long way in building the business.

We have been to many large steak houses in Houston and Galveston areas and we were so excited to go to a small butcher shop steak restaurant in Texas. Upon entering, the wait staff was really not interested in us at all. I was Surprised to see that a 68 ribeye was Ala Carte and no sides were included. Besides the Ala carte steaks, you are offered only two other entree’ options. Those at least came with a side. The ribeye was less than half inch thick upon arrival. It was stringy and not great. My wife did like the pork chop. The Brussels spouts were very vinegary and the potatos had zero seasoning. I ordered a sauv blanc that I actually Really liked so I took A picture of the label so I could buy some only to find that the whole bottle was a 15 bottle of wine that they wanted 20 bucks a glass for. Won’t be going back there. Wayyyyyyy overpriced for the quality of food. This was a first for us here in Texas especially for a steak restaurant

This is just for the butcher side. I have not eaten at the restaurant before. With that said the meat quality is always 5 stars. My only 2 complaints are......(1) I miss the old manager. She was always so pleasant regardless if you were spending $2 or $200. Even during covid she was always so nice. I have been shopping here for going on 6 years and now it seems like if your not spending big $ which isn't hard here then your wasting their time. The old vibes were nothing like that. Sometimes I am cooking just for myself and I don't need 3lbs of ny strip ECT.2) the frozen meat section has been down for a while now. I am not sure if it is a refrigeration issue or profit issue so they stopped but I always use to grab 2-3 lbs of chuck each visit to stock the freezer.Overall this is a great place I just hope the environment/people don't slide away like the rest of modern day Austin. 35 year native and I really miss my old Austin.

If you rate this establishment less than 5-stars, you should probably move back to California. The menu is amazing and this is the only thing I truly enjoy about Austin. The charcuterie boards are always changing and it is very exciting when it gets to the table to try the different selections.Seriously.....if you don't give this place 5 stars, move back to San Francisco and enjoy the homeless people and taxes.....And if the owners want to expand to Dallas/Fort Worth, holler at your boy. I'll quit my job and run it for you....

Great hamburgers and meat dishes. The non-meat dishes are not as good but since it’s a place that specializes in meat, that makes sense. Cute interior and great service!

Great meats, the cold cuts are delicious and perfectly sliced, the staff was very noce and helpful, the bread was great and the ambiance very welcoming, if you’re in the area it is well worth a detour.
