I have one complaint about this store but it's a real problem so I'm giving a bad review. Since when do grocery stores insist you tip their employees? I buy two energy drinks and a soda from the cold case -- I pick them out. I bring them to the register. I don't need a bag. But the electronic payment system makes me opt out to give a "custom" tip of 0%. How stupid is that? Since when do we tip grocery stores? Better yet, just create a self checkout line so I don't need to wait for your employee's slow-footed help anyway.

Such a cool little place. The guy from New Orleans was so friendly. Will definitely be coming back here next time we’re in town!

Just love stores that don't price their items. Is this ice cream $3 or $15?

I've worked in the heart of downtown for the past 12 years and always loved RBG. Way overpriced, but it's a convenience store; I get it. Used to be great. Overpriced goods were excusable when the staff was nice and friendly. The current staff is rude and pretentious. I haven't had even a decent experience here in a while. I guess I'm the idiot for continuing to shop here. My advice: avoid at all cost. 7-11 is better than this place

My wife and I were staying in the hotel across from RBG and I didn't think that it was going to be all that. I usually buy a jug of drinking water when we travel anywhere but it seems that Austin's water is okay to drink. I also wanted to get some adult beverages and they do have wine, beer and canned mixed seltzer. What really surprised me was the sandwiches. We were doing a lot of activities one day and totally skipped dinner. By 9PM I was hungry but didn't want to order from the hotel. I took a chance and tried the cuban sandwich at RBG and it was pretty good. It was prep'd cold in the display case, but they grilled it there and cut it in half so the wife could take a few bites too. They also have chips, candy, and other snacks. Prices were good! Convenient: right across the hotel and they close at midnight. Parking: none that I could see but we were at the hotel. Staff: Friendly. Not overly friendly, and not snobby. Perfect to not make you uncomfortable but welcomed. Bottom Line: I will go back next time I'm in the area.

Thank heaven for Royal Blue Grocery. Sometimes you don't want to fight the crowd to get something simple to eat, and you also don't want to find yourself eating crap. Blue Grocery fills that void. Salads, sandwiches, hummus and much more. It's an upscale bodega in a sea or tourist-driven restaurants.

i used to love royal blue but now i can say that it is not as good as it once was. is there a barista shortage or something? it seems to me they're hiring people with no prior experience, because every single time i get a drink from this place, it's just not good. i used to work at a coffee shop and i know what a baby barista drink tastes like. matcha? chai? coffee? i haven't had a good drink from this place since last year. this morning i got an iced almond milk latte. simple, right? well, no. the employees used their almighty cosmic powers to mess up my extremely simple order. i can't stomach it. it's SO BAD. i feel sad writing this bc the baristas and cashiers are all really sweet and kind, and i look forward to coming in, but THE DRINKS ARE SOOOO BADDDD :( please train new hires so i can enjoy my mornings again
