this place has almost everything a restaurant needs to exist. however the line to leave is incredibly slow, I can say without a doubt you will be waiting at least 45 minutes. If only they could add more checkout people to keep the lines down, it would be a lot better.

I am a regular customer at this establishment. My manager & I frequent this facility at least 2-4 times a week. Additionally, my staff & I frequent the Bissonnet location in Houston & never have problems. They know me as the “ice cream man”, allowing me to pre-pay for ice cream, load up my vehicle, come back for ice cream, & walk right back out without waiting in line again. I even had a former employee, Daniel, who’s the best btw, provide me his number so that I could conveniently text him my orders & would text back once order was ready for pick up.Today 10/23/23, I had the worst experience with this company all because of the manager who goes by the name “Jose”. He’s the guy I always see on the forklift that drops pallets down for customers in case shelves are empty, the guy I say thank you to every time he drops something down for me but never replies back, smiles, or even makes eye contact.I arrived at Restaurant Depot at 5pm, an hour before they close. Keep in mind today is errand day for me. I’ve been running around picking up supplies all day. I realized two items I needed aren’t on the shelf so I ask him nicely to drop them down for me. No response. He then proceeds to drop various pallets down & back up, seemingly unable to locate the items. I figured I’d help by telling him I’ll go to the front desk to have them check the system for availability of the items. In a tone of frustration, he says, “I’m not going to keep dropping down these pallets.” I was in disbelief. I asked, “well isn’t that your job?” He says, “no”. He then repeatedly says, “ya’ll want to come in here at the last minute”. By that time I was speechless & couldn’t help but to smile as I couldn’t believe this confrontation had just taken place. I asked, “where is your manager?” To my surprise, he replies, “I am the manager”. I then told him that this is not how you treat your customers, that I’ll complain to another manager. He shrugs & says, “go ahead” hops back on his forklift & goes on his way.Now I’m in a bad mood having met with such disrespect. I go to the front, ask for another manager but was told they left early. While at the front, another employee who overheard the confrontation earlier, kindly came over handing me what I needed. Jose must’ve found my item after I went to the front. I took a business card with the Branch Managers name on it, purchased my things, & as I was leaving all the staff members were kind enough to apologize for the occurrence.Moral of the story, no matter the kind of day one is experiencing, whether it be good or bad, one should never vent their frustration & anger out towards others who aren’t at fault. In this regard, customers always come first, especially when employed in a food service industry. Dealing with hospitality myself, I have my fair share of last minute customers & trust me, I know it gets frustrating at times but in the end, no good comes out expressing displeasure. Customers keep the doors open for businesses. Businesses entrust & support top-level management positions for employees such as Jose who earn it with long-term display of dedication, loyalty, work ethic. Why flush it all down the drain by causing minor dispute when all could’ve been simply avoided?Nonetheless, I continue to use Restaurant Depot. Prices are competitive. On a side note, Jose, if you have even the slightest bit of remorse for your actions, I come in every Monday. I’m reasonable and don’t hold grudges. Who knows? I might forget any of this happened & consider taking the review down if shown some accountability. On the other hand, if you genuinely believe the behavior was justified & truly feel no remorse for any wrongdoing, clearly, this is a portrayal of unprofessionalism, disregard, & lack of empathy not only towards your customers, but for your company as well. Respectively, I will share little concern for you & will be reaching out to Dale Hunter, the branch manager. Surely, Mr. Hunter cares for his customers & would gladly meet to discuss ways on

I can't tell you how many times should I come into the store but I can tell you that each visit is a success. Today we came in for a exchange! We was moving to fast and got the wrong package of sausage. Went right to the front and did an exchange. Last, the store is normally clean and organized. I love seeing the workers stock the floor. Special shout to the front desk Ms Bonnie- your a jewel. To Jay for always managing the flow on the sales floor and helping us find items on the floor and to the cashiers that are always working hard to make sure the count is correct, THANK YOU

Took the day off to explore a restaurant depot in Central Austin. A nice discovery to shop for items that you would see in restaurants in a Costco manner. Items are stored on shelves stories tall. Everything is laid out in nice order and you can usually find things very fast here. In the front entrance, you have to sign in with your drivers license or membership ID. Their baskets are a little different to pull around in the isles so you can load them from left to right and bottom to top. It just makes things easier. I've been here before and knew to bring a sweater. He gets very cold in the deep freezer. In the freezer, you'll see shelves of deli meats, and hanging goats and freezers with cakes and cheese. there are also containers with crabs and lobsters and fish... Everything that you can imagine they have on hand. If you can't find it, the management is. Helpful in finding what need. our mission here was just to buy a 20 pound side of beef and cut them up in the steaks when we get home. Not a bad deal! We purchased 18 pounds of sirloin steak for $188. For that price we will have steak for the whole year and save about $50 in the long run if not more. it wasn't busy around the time we left 3 o'clock on a Friday afternoon. If you plan on going over the weekend, I suggest having one person with the cart in line and the other one shopping on the go. The checkout lines get pretty long and you can wait up to about an hour or hour and a half to get out of the building. For those who like to cook at home this is the place to go get good quality food at a reasonable price.

I usually went to Restaurant Depot in San Antonio. They were okay in San Antonio. However, I bought a restaurant in Austin so I had to go shopping in Austin Restaurant Depot. I didn't like this location at all. The workers are rude and they don't have customer service at all. They also have a bad time managing their employees. They stacked 70 lb meat on the second shelf which was almost 5' of the ground and when I asked an guy employee to help me move the cart, he looked at me like I was lazy. I was telling him because it's too heavy for me and it will be easier for him to lift it up. He was telling me that I was being prejudiced. I didn't argue with him but it's a common knowledge that a man was born stronger than a woman. There are other incidents. I have to keep shopping because it's too far away for me to shop at Austin, but the management needs to do something with this store.

I got the wrong item I wanted to return it before I left resturant depot . However, the cashier was sending me to the costumer service the costumer service was sending me back to the cashier about four time and I have to wait in line every time. Even the manager I belive her name is Brenda I went to get her twice and she was rude as he'll. At the end I told her I don't care for the money just let me go and started to rise me voice then the Manger came I. And fix my issue. I would give zero star to that manager and the staff if I could.

Every time I come to the Austin location I am met with unprofessional careless people who are obviously there to get a check! Rude, cursing around customers, generally not caring about the company brand! For example, I came to check out and was standing where a line usually form to be directed to the next open register. All cashiers looked at me while two others just talked. Another customer walked right past me and got helped. They saw what happened and said nothing just directed me to be helped after him! I will spend extra to shop elsewhere to avoid this headache and terrible business practices!

Absolutely terrible company all around. Upper management is horrible. You’ll do your job and they will sit on their computer and not support you like they say and blame you for every little thing that goes wrong. Absolutely do not work there and especially don’t shop there. Line takes 1 hour to get through and no one helps the front. Departments don’t tag their products and they blame the front for the line taking long.

Very bad place for a truck driver to deliver freight to very slow. They do not go buy appointment, so if you're giving an appointment you might as well forget that you will spend at least 4 to 6 hours here. That's all I got to say

I absolutely hate this place. Forklift drivers are awful! Staff is always bit€hing instead of working, hit or miss on finding what we want and worst of all, the checkout line can set you back a half an hour. I could go on for ever, this place sucks!!

Just wanted to mentioned the last few visits I’ve noticed new staff I was immediately greeted as soon as I came in, restockers and fork lift drivers all courteous and aware of customers around them, cashiers were all polite and thorough. The friendly service is appreciated, glad to see the new staff
