The female business owner or manager of this establishment harassed and intimidated underage children in this particular situation. I cannot tell if prejudice is involved but buyer beware. My child was on a family trip with a friend and her parents. They excitedly went into the store to browse. In short order, the lady of the store accused my daughter and her friend of stealing, saying they had stolen from her last week. I think she may have even told them to put something down. My daughter nor this family have ever been to this store, and they were not in Austin last week. The mom that was with my child tried to tell the lady that there must be some terrible mistake and explain to her, but she persisted. Of course, my daughter was stunned. My daughter described being shocked at such an accusation and having no words after her aggressive behavior towards her. The family eventually left. I’m sure not without having some choice words for the lady in the store, but I can’t argue with that after having been put in such a dreadful position. These were children, and she didn’t even try to address the adults with them. How can you accuse? Maybe go check your cameras or print out a picture and have to compare instead of driving away paying customers in a store that didn’t have any other customers. I’m so glad this did not one bit ruin my daughter’s day. All it did was show her what a great family her friend has. One that would take care of her and keep her safe.
I can understand the negative feeling of being stolen from as a store owner, but that is no excuse to mistreat the wrong person/people for your negligence in being more vigilant when it was warranted.

Never been to Austin before but came from out of town with family and was accused of stealing. Met with great hostility from staff even thought was the first time entering the store. Super cool way to start our trip off :/

Today I visited this store located in the south of Congress and the entire time I was there I felt watched and I was the only Latin person in that place which made me feel discriminated against and I think that this century people continue to comment on these deplorable acts in If a customer feels harassed, they would definitely not go to this place again.

This is such a cute store to find Austin native souvenirs and other items. We bought multiple things for family including locally made jewelry from two different artists, a shot glass, and other things. Definitely recommend!

I walked in here with my family (Hispanic) lady followed us around the store and my sister picked something small up to look at it . When leaving employee literally stood in front of us at the store to stop us from going outside and literally asked my sister to walk her and SHOW HER WHERE THE ITEM WAS . Didn't do this with anyone else in the store . I've been here before and have bought many things . I will never recommend this place . HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. They discriminate.

They have a good amount of options of souvenirs. It had the best items compared to other souvenir type shops in Austin. I walked in 10 minutes before closing time (didn't realize) and the staff was still very friendly and nice. They let me stay a few minutes to make my final choices and purchase! I'd recommend stopping by here to get souvenirs for friends/family who don't live in Austin!

The outside is way cooler than what's inside. It's just a cheap souvenir shop. There are better places to go.

Was charged twice for the same items and not refunded by management. The cashier had me insert my card multiple times and assured me it did not double-charge. Alan, the manager, did not refund me even after several phone conversations saying he would. I will now have to file a charge-back through my bank. Avoid this place.
